Can relate here too Mike. The number of abdominal ultrasounds I had trying to find the possible cause for my significant stomach pain, the bloating etc. And I lost about 7kg in as many months….you know its noticeable when doctors receptionists point it out to a packed waiting room lol
3 weeks into tx and I had stopped losing weight and my face lost its haggard-drawn out look. And no more crippling addominal pain either.
That said you are right on the money that after decades of battling the virus we cannot expect to rebound into feeling as we might have when we were young (and hey, my memory of that is tenuous at best anyway )

And I feel pretty damn honoured to be one of the fortunate graduates
Its been 2 weeks now since my results and I think the enormity of what I’ve been given is finally sinking in.

ALT 26Thanks very much Joy (and so pleased to hear about your great news too!)
It really is the treatment you’re having when it doesn’t feel like any at all, for sure heh
Appreciate your wishes re my Mum; I guess if you’re one of the few lucky enough to live to that sort of age, its something very much on the cards. Many thanks again.

ALT 26Good luck too, Dan.
That seems logical Vororo I have a bit of lightheadedness too, and the usual headaches (no matter the amount of water). Makes sense what you’re saying, thanks.

It is an amazing result, isn’t it – and you barely know anything is happening, most of the time Nothing short of miraculous.

Happy for you!!
Concerned about your mom.
Mine is 84 and could still spank me if she took the urge.
Good to hear from you.
MG’day Mike!
Thanks for the congrats and your kind wishes – yeah I reckon she probably could too, lolHeard you’re doing great things over at Delphi…maybe relieve Evil Joy of some of her poor misguided followers – all the more power to you mate
I’ve restarted a prescence on reddit to try and steer a few people your way, as well, here’s hoping.

ALT 26Hey cheers Gaj!
I know, its what you’d generally expect for a 4 week result (going by the stats), but I was still amazed nonetheless

And yes just the concept of being undetected is an incredible thing, after so long – and with so few sx, its hard to imagine, huh

ALT 26Great to hear of all the EOT’s here (Tina and Dan esp since you had a bit of a rough trot)
And Joy – Fantastic news, congrats!
I’m not likely to be able to catch up after a long time offline, but want to wish everyone the best
I’m not drinking anymore (at least until I get well into SVF) but I do miss the occasional smoke, with you on that Chejai…I gave up though when I got my firearms licence – too much at stake to risk it
(unless Aust goes full Colorado, which I doubt lol)

And yes, she is a fighter! It that “indestructable generation” who went through the war, they never complain about anything either. You’re right though, the risks aren’t negligible indeed…have to gauge by the specialist’s opinion.

ALT 26Hey Chejai
Thanks very much for your kind wishes for my Mum, I really appreciate it. We don’t know what the best course is atm (still more specialists to wade through lol) but her age might preclude doing anything surgical – she is amazing enough at 92 to have lived so long without major issues until now. So, fingers definitely crossed.
Great news that you achieved undetected too! Really happy for you mate Funny you should say your first month was the best, mine too. Just before my connection went to shit I took a bus trip to Palm Beach and walked the whole length, twice…including up into the sandhills – and still felt I had energy afterwards Found out later its about 3-4km each way – and through sand wearing trainers lol. That was about the last time I really fely like I had surplus energy – since then I have been getting very tired in the afternoons again like I used to pre tx (which is why I had doubts that I’d hit UND) But whatever is happening, I know the virus is being knocked out, which is the main thing…fingers crossed for a SVR, and for you too

ALT 26Hey everyone…many apologies I know I’ve been MIA from here for quite a while now.
After the mother of all IT stuff-ups (which I thought was sorted about a week ago, but went down again after an hour) but hopefully the new modem holds out now. Also had some bad news re my Mum, looks like she needs open-heart surgery but there are doubts as to whether she might survive the operation…we can only toss up the viable options at this stage. Its been a rough few weeks, so sorry for my no-shows on the forum.
I do have some good news though – I finally found out at the 6wk point (bit more than a week ago now) that, yes I have joined the Undetected club! (as of 11 Feb) Woohoo! Dr James chased up the hospital results on my behalf, I’d been waiting 2 weeks and hadn’t heard back…just amazing. Although it was a very likely outcome, I couldn’t help but have niggling doubts…human nature I guess!
When I saw the figures in black & white…AST and ALT both 26 For the first time in 27 years…its hard to believe really! So much I owe to the club, Dr James, and the amazing generosity of those who would help a complete stranger. You all have my undying gratitude
It will take a while to catch up on everyone’s progress here (and no doubt I’ll miss a fair bit! – so sorry for that in advance)

ALT 26Its a good point Cindi, I only use my clippers with the plastic gauge combs, never the bare blades alone. There could be a risk however small if they aren’t cautious.

ALT 26Hi psavic, sorry for my late reply to your thread – good to know you’ve had a smooth ride so far and I wish you all the best.
It is strange the fibroscan discrepancy; also the different proceedures for testing…any I’ve had done were lying relaxed and breathing normally with the right arm slightly aside to allow access to the ribs – never heard about standing in that position you did in the first test Good to know you have 24weeks in case an extension is needed; as Dr J pointed out Riba is not going to give you any better outcomes (yay on that at least lol)
