Thanks to all and glad to meet you!!! #flower

I thought I'd be posting on my first day. but I found myself needing some quiet time to really take it in - what this means, how long I've been waiting, and how I had resigned myself to not getting treatment..... and how scary that was. And now that it's here it seems too good to be true! Surreal....

I'm about to take my third one. So far, no sidesl, so different from the IFN/Riba poison. I'm elated, and in awe of this tx!

Well! Hello semisweet! Love that monicker
See what happens ... a guy takes a couple of days off (away from this crazy world of electronic gadgets and such) and up pops another American  we're kinda like weeds in the land of OZ.
Truly happy you discovered this place. You'll find you can't stay away. It's my home away from home. As you've already seen, they treat ya like family here and EVERYONE has a story. Thanks for sharing some of yours with us. Congrats on starting tx and TG for Dr. James and Fixhepc indeed! I know like the rest of us here, you'll want to spread the word to those of us whose "grains of rice" had to come from that rice bowl, because Gilead was too greedy to share from theirs. ;)
Looking forward to following your progress sis :+1:

Hi Matt-Kenney and CCB2! Sending virtual hugs!

I'm on day ten. I had a really hard workweek...I've been working four ten hour days with three days off, by choice. i don't know if it was from the meds, but I just couldn't fall asleep for hours, and also had the dreaded wake ups and couldn't get back to sleep. I was crushingly tired all week, especially my last day. i really don't know how I made it through. So, I'm changing to four nine hour days and a 1/2 day on Friday. I think that extra hour at night will help me wind down. I've felt better over the weekend (got in some good sleep). Waiting for my burst of energy!!!

Hey Semisweet

I'm not a doctor but I do believe people who have gone through the previous regimes of Tx have a harder time of it initially. Your experience is certainly different to mine but hopefully the good bits will kick in for you very soon.

Hi semisweet,

Apparently insomnia is an issue for about 6% of patients while on Harvoni. fixhepc.com/forum/experts-corner/786-off...t-reports.html#12379

Hopefully for you like many others it will just be until you get over the novelty/excitement of commencing treatment. Giving yourself more time to wind down each night should help as you say (switch off the computer :P ) and depending on other factors you may be able to look at adjusting the timing of your medication. Here are some suggestions from Dr James.

Hi Semisweet,
Sounds like what my doc calls "broken sleep". Work you ass off, go to bed and sleep great for a couple of hours and wake up at 2:00 am with a tired body and a mind in overdrive and toss and turn until its almost time to get up and drop off to sleep again. It was hell for me and left me tired, listless and cranky. About every fourth night I would simply pass out from exhaustion.
This started happening to me during the stressful fight for treatment and continued until about week 3 or 4, when my first great labs came back.
I have no tips on how to deal with it. I would say relax, but that sounds stupid.
Age, for me, is another factor. I just don't sleep as well as I used to..
The days get longer.
The years get shorter.
The sleep comes harder.
Then there's the peeing.....
