Is there some reason Chinese people don’t buy from Mesochem? I mean, it would avoid a lot of importation red tape and its the cheapest tx available…

Hi mgalbrai, even though mesochem is known for the good quality tested API’s, seems people in China prefer more of the licensed generics.

Yes, that seems to be the opinion of a Chinese professor here at the university, a chemical engineer. We were discussing my recently aquired Mesochem APIs last October. He said the average Chinese person would not take Chinese medicines if foreign sources were available.
In a very polite manner, he basically told me I was crazy if I took those powders.
    Quite a morale booster.
I went home and weighed out my first 4 week supply.
    I guess I’m crazy….

Lol. Anything as long as you were cured. I was also speaking to a Chinese friend of mine and he said that the average Chinese person would prefer trusting a foreign company over their own companies manufacturing these active ingredients there. Also there is a lot of issue of counterfeit drugs in China too. Have you been achieved SVR12?

Its not particularly unique that the Chinese prefer generics not made in China I was
reading a story in the NYT about electronic scripts that touched on generics in America regardless
    of origin.

The scripts go to one pharmacy meaning if you have to buy what ever drugs they have available
for those without insurance or high co-pays its very annoying.
The number one complaint was having them having to buy generics every single poster was
convinced that the brand name ( What ever drug) was far superior too any generic with this
new practice with scripts they have to take what was on offer at the pharmacy.

I was amazed at how many people think generics have different ingredients then the brand name
they are convinced they’re are not the same this view seems particularly bad with anyone using
pain medications though it branches out into all medications.

An advertising exec hired by Gilead would have a field day……not only for Chinese
generics but also, the guilt by association mentality for all other HCV generics.

Me, I only ever buy Levi Jeans. I know I can buy other cheaper jeans of similar quality. But in my head I know that Levis are “better”. Evidently, from an early age I have been brainwashed by cool marketing ads on TV. But it doesn’t matter very much because I only lose about $40 each time I buy a new pair of jeans.

But with medication it is different. The same molecule is the same molecule, whether it was Made in China or Made in Ireland. And either way, I am not going to wear the label on my ass.

So I’ll always buy the cheap one and put the savings towards my Levi Jeans fund…

… which is currently running at a surplus of about 1,000 pairs.
    :)

I read that Harvoni is made from API’s that Gilead purchases from a company in Jordan. They run them through a tableting machine in Ireland, I guess so they can put “Made in Ireland” on the label.

My Brother, who is a very intelligent, highly paid professional told me flat out I was crazy taking generics based on Chinese API’s. He told me to take money from my 401K and get Harvoni, since I qualified for grants. I told him I can save $21,000 with generics, and it’s the same medicine. I would be crazy to buy Harvoni.

I am undetected and convinced no matter what the outcome I made the smart choice.

The stigma associated with China is misplaced. 20 years ago, China was sketchy. Today, China has state of the art capabilities and many companies manufacture there our outsource to them. They have the same pharmaceutical manufacturing technology as any other country.
