    Hi All!

I’m editing my original message to add specifics about the medication.

I just started taking Sofosbuvir (400 mg) & Ledipasvir (90 mg) by Cipla two weeks ago for my Hep C – 1A. I’ve read stories from others about feeling more energy after taking meds rather quickly, but actually I’m feeling pretty run down and lethargic from my medication. Is this actually quite common, as well? Anyone else have some stories to tell about their experience with Cipla.

I also don’t have much appetite.

    Thoughts and comments?

    Thanks!

    Quinn

    Welcome Quinn, :)

Looks like everyone else is in holiday mode. If you scroll up this page you will find a number of tabs including Search just above your first post. Entering Cipla or Hepcivir in there will bring up many posts mentioning those names although as Chapel mentioned Sof/Led, Sofosbuvir & Ledipasvir or harvoni (generic or original) all contain the same active ingredients so I would expect any side effects will be much the same regardless of the particular brand.

I was on a slightly different treatment due to my genotype but from my experience and talking to and reading about others who were on the same as you the sides do seem to vary from person to person and often vary through treatment with not all getting the sudden improvement that some do. I guess it may also depend a bit on how bad your HCV symptoms were pretreatment too. Yours don’t seem too dissimilar to what some others have experienced but please ask if anything is concerning you as I’m sure someone will be able to chime in to advise.

Something that may help is to ensure you remain well hydrated by drinking plenty of water as this seems to reduce some of the sides.

Hi Quinn, I took generic harvoni from China for my Hep C genotype 1a and I had very few side effects, a bit of flu-like stuff and a little hyper active feeling. My appetite seemed stronger than pre-treatment.
It sounds like your side effects are pretty minor so far but please report any changes so others can comment. These are fantastic drugs compared to the earlier treatments, as you probably know.

    Hi Quinn and Welcome!
I took Sof/Led for the first 12 weeks of my first round of treatment and had very few side effects. In my experience it is sometimes hard to distinguish between the virus symptoms and the treatment in the early days. I definately noticed the difference when the virus had cleared particularly in terms of brain fog and tiredness. I think when we carry this virus for so long it’s hard to know what a normal ebb and flow of energy feels like.

As Gaj mentioned it is really important to keep hydrated. I have to consciously make myself drink lots of water – at the moment if I don’t I end up with a headaches.

I’m really happy that you have started the treatment. Time goes fast – the treatment will be over and the virus will be gone before you know.

Look forward to seeing your updates #flower #flower

I have ZERO side effects. Well maybe tons and tons of energy but no negatives. I wasn’t sure I had REAL medication until I took my 5 week SVR and came back undetected after having a virus load of well over 3 million. Good luck with everything. Minor side effects is just a short time hurtle to overcome. Well worth it in the long run.
