Hi all,

I got a bad rash the last 2 times I did tx. Nothing was much good once it developed, I just suffered through it. On a scale of 1 – 10 where 10 is admittance to A&E I’d say I was sometimes a 9. As I will again be taking ribavirin, I am thinking about taking OTC antihistamines regularly as a preventative, paying attention to which ones make you drowsy and which don’t.

So my questions are – is this a good idea?
I can’t find any drug interactions with sof, dac or led that contraindicate these meds, so is it safe?

Meds in question are these, all anti-allergy category:

Cetirizine hydrochloride 10mg, one-a-day, non-drowsy
Loratadine 10mg, one-a-day, non-drowsy
Chlorphenamine maleate 4mg, one tab every 4-6 hours, can make drowsy
Acruvastine
Diphenhydramine (Benadryl)

There are several more but that will do for now. Are there any of these preferred for rashes, either before or during a rash?
