I have a prescription and my bloodwork including Hep B test that is negative and my fibroscan. I know my genotype but do not have a copy of the test results. I have a denial from my insurance company stating that my genotype is 1a, they want an HIV test now. Do I need an HIV test? Is it necessary to have the test results for the genotype? My VL is 3,210,000, fibro is 0, ALT 37, AST 27

AST 1510 November 2017 at 4:20 am #26991Hi Redhead,
Go ahead and contact Fix Hep C about the Redemption trials, I am sure Dr. Freeman will help you.
10 November 2017 at 4:50 am #26992Hi Redhead & welcome.
As Greedfighter says, if you contact Fixhepc they will be able to tell you exactly what you need.
There are a number of contact methods listed on the blue bar at the top of this page. I would recommend an initial email to help@fixhepc.com so you can attached scans of the documents you currently have on hand as well as your questions above. That way they will be able to inform you if anything else is required along with other advice.

10 November 2017 at 2:37 pm #26996Hello Redhead,
It all sounds pretty straight forward. If you know your genotype with ceratainty we can choose medications, but if we did not we could choose from the “One medication treats all” range.
Just go to https://gp2u.com.au/ and register as a patient. Upload the results you have and book in with me and I will get you sorted.
YMMV
10 November 2017 at 9:02 pm #26998I registered and uploaded the files. I will have to set up video conferencing this weekend and then book an appointment. Thank you for your reply.

The video is as simple as Google Chrome on any computer with a Webcam or just download the iOS or Android App.

12 November 2017 at 5:36 am #27008Hi Redhead,
Just a quick welcome as you seem to have everything nearly organised. It’s such a great feeling to take back control after being denied treatment.
I was also Genotype 1a and sourced my medication through Fixhepc. I’ve been HepC free from a while now and it’s life changing. Dr Freeman was my doctor throughout via Skype and you couldn’t be in safer hands.
Good luck Redhead – I look forward to hearing about your progress.

13 November 2017 at 8:35 am #27012Perfect time to get treated. I did the same thing as you, denied by insurance and amazingly found this place.
If you treat now you’ll start your new year out HCV free.
You’ve got this, it is a real no brainer.
