    @catemae

    Just wondering if there are any laxatives safe for use with ledipasvir + sofosbuvir? Having bowel issues due to my menstrual cycle and need some relief.

    Yes, you can.

    I prefer lactulose (a non-absorbable sugar) because you can “dial a dose”

    10 ml twice a day, 20 ml, or even 30 ml depending on how much help is required. Soft, but not runny is the desired outcome.

    I would probably have it separate by an hour or two to the Harvoni just to remove the worry of any interaction. So if you morning dose, have your tablets, then some lactulose at 10 am and then before bed at circa 10 pm.

    YMMV

    Hi Catemae
    For a bit of choice, I use physillium hulls powder. Its good at either getting things moving as well as slowing things down if you have the squirts. Best of all its real cheap when bought in bulk. Very effective and super easy on the system too . Like the Doc says, have it a few hrs after meds as you dont want any of your meds transported out. just stir in a tsp in a glass of water and wait just until it gets thick and slippery then chase it with another glass of water .
