    Rachel at Mesochem sent me some pictures and asked if I was making this. We are not. It is a fake product made in Ukraine and photographed in Azerbaijan (photos were on mobile phone with +994 Azerbaijan country code showing).

    Sadly she does not want the pictures shown (in case people believe it is real), but what the photos showed was a box labeled on one side:

    DACLATASVIR
    (Active Substance)
    60 mg
    28 capsules
    MESO

    There is a red stripe running top to bottom next to a grey stripe running top to bottom on the left of the writing. The DACLATASVIR is on a gold background and has a highlight outline.

    On another side which is all white we have

    Mfg. date: April 02, 2015
    Exp. date: April 01, 2017

    And yes the image from the Mesochem website was reproduced exactly as shown, shadows and all.

    How do these people look at themselves in a mirror?, …no eye contact I would imagine.

    Hi Dr James,

    I thought that Mesochem only manufactures the APIs and is not currently in the business of encapsulating product for retail sale?

    So any prepackaged pill/capsule product worldwide labelled as being Mesochem made or manufactured obviously is not theirs and should be viewed as fake?

    Is that correct?

    Thanks Doc and Rachel,
    This action on Rachel’s part demonstrates, in my view, Mesochem’s dedication to product quality and standards. Sadly, where you have sick people trying to get well and save some money, you will even sicker people trying to make money.
    Had to happen eventually.
    Probably will again.
    Constant vigilance.

    How did she got hold of this fake product? is it sold somewhere online??

    Geno 3, Fibro 8.7 pKA, tx experinced in 2005 – Peg/Riba, relapsed.
    Started tx 1/12/2015 with Indian Sofo & Chinese Dac.
    5 weeks result all normal, ALT 18 – down from ALT 73 at the start of tx.
    5 weeks HCV PCR RNA – UND. – down from 2 ML
    9 weeks HCV PCR RNA – UND.
