BOOM!
I was diagnosed because of high enzymes. My ALT was 225. It had always been the same since I started getting annual physicals at age 50: 45 +/-.
My PCP said that wasn't uncommon in people who liked to drink alcohol-regularly, like all the time.
So, after the 225 wake up call, I quit drinking. A month later, the ALT was 125. Another month: 90. Another two months: 50. The next year's physical: 38.
So, my liver enzymes came down, but very slowly due to HCV.
Knock out the bug...
BOOM!

"BOOM!"

my ALTs have hovered in the 100's then the 200's for many years; then the big drop with sof/dac.

little wonder it's hard to figure out day to day whether I feel better, not as good as I should, or I have just got older. Been under the weather that long it is taking months to get used to what feeling good feels like.

Maybe it is the suddenness of the change?

yours

It definitely is not a "magical journey" into the vigor and optimism of my younger years feeling.
But, if I get a good night's sleep, I generally feel as good or better than I have felt in years. No illness so far this school year either. That's simply incredible for me. The past decade, it seemed like I had, or was getting over, a cold or sinusitis the whole time.
Some nights I sleep great. Some nights its like my mind won't "shut off" and the sleep sucks.
Probably age or, as my mother would say, something I ate....
