Hi, I have made enquiries to Beacon Pharma on getting Hep C meds for a family member in Ireland. They have advised that they will take care of customs on their side but I would be responsible for customs on arrival in Ireland. I am fairly sure importation of personal prescription meds by post is illegal in Ireland. Does anyone here have any experience of getting meds shipped to Ireland?
As far as I know it is legal to bring prescribed meds into the country in person so it may be safer to ship to an address in the UK and collect them there. Any advice on the best approach would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

As you say, it is illegal to direct ship meds into Ireland but acceptable to send to a U.K. address and then carry them back on your person. I assume you would need a copy of the prescription on you when doing so.

Yes, you are correct you cannot have anything imported into Ireland you'll need to have them
sent to the UK with a view to taking them back in person.

Id note, you'll need prescriptions for customs in the UK id be aware you'll also receive a
bill for about 40 pounds after the fact from Fed Ex on behalf of the UK revenue, apparently its an error
I know of one person whom managed to have it waived, I and many other paid the bill!
