Regarding your viral load and treatment response question Nick, Dr James answered this question earlier in this thread, he said that :"Viral load is essentially meaningless. Anything over undetected is a problem and the response to treatment is great regardless of starting viral load." Best of luck.

I live in California. You will have zero side effects. I did.
I just finished my second round of treatment ( ihave type 3 as well). So far so good. I don't want to hex the deal as they say. But I just had my SVR5 test results come back Undetected. I went with 24 weeks this time. Crossing my fingers..... Good luck, Nick.

Hello new guy here 5 years 10 months ago #26497

Good morning. I am curious if anyone has had to specifically ask for the CMP blood test or was it standard? I would think i would have already have gotten the test done but i have not and i have not been told that im going to do anymore blood work done in the future. My next test is the fibrosis scan. To my knowledge the CMP test is the last test i need completed before i can obtain a prescription from Dr. Freeman.

Hi Nick,

There is no such thing as a "standard blood test". Either you're looking for something specific or you are throwing out a non-specific trawler type net which would usually include CBC and CMP as this provides some insight into the blood system, kidneys and liver.

Some doctors order stacks of tests, some order too few and none of us ever get it "just right".
YMMV
