This is really great news for J, and you too of course, Cindi. That is a fantastic drop in VL! So, glad he's feeling happier. I was 18 when I got it and have had depression most of my life, genetic predisposition but living with this chronic virus may well have factored in.

I've been looking on the drug interaction chart but can't find " Brompheniramine" I think it's an antihistamine. It's in a med called Dimetapp, which J needs at night when he has a cold, and he seems to be getting one.

I see the other ingredient "Phenylephrint" is ok with the Harvoni.

Can anyone help with this?
Anyone know?

J will have done 4 weeks tomorrow & will get his bloods done.
he's going well other than getting a sore throat now.
I really grilled him the other day about sides, as he doesn't say much.

It appears the only difference he's really felt on these orals is his appetite is a bit less.
Not as hungry, & eating less.
That's all.

Hope someone can come back with any advise about the drug interaction.

Also what about vit. C or Sambucol which seems to just be "Sambucas nigra" ( black elderberry)
Can't find anything like this on drug interaction chart.

The problem with J is he's a fussy eater, doesn't eat fruit & hates vegies except shelled peas.Maybe I can bribe a carrot into him & potatoes.
That's about it.
Once we offered him $20 just to "try" a banana, but he refused ....we did start off a lot lower but it got up to that amount & we gave up.

Very difficult to get vitamins into him except for the pill kind, and since starting the Led/sof, he's had NO sups at all.

Any suggestions?

The metabolic pathway has not been full characterised.

So while it should be fine, as short a period of use as possible would be best.

I can't find anything at all on the Dimatap but I think the Vitamin C is fine as I have seen it recommended for use on treatment elsewhere. Fussy eater eh ? I suppose mung beans, brussel sprouts and spinach are all out as well

You know how weird it is, he won't eat mango's ( even a slither) or watermelon, or any of those nice summer fruits, he loves strawberry milkshakes & ice-cream but wont touch a strawberry.

Oh.... just remembered, he has eaten little bits of pealed apple before if the bribe's good enough.

....but that's about it.

Hmmm. Shepherds pie, lasagna, spaghetti bol, meatloaf, hamburgers, homemade sausage rolls?

Pretty much anything using (not too lean) mince meat you can grate up some carrot, zucchini, onion, etc. the thicker and richer flavoured any sauce is, and the finer you grate the more you can get away with but don't use too much in the beginning.

Blitz fresh strawberries with some strawberry syrup?

I guess gone are the days when you were told to eat what was put in front of you, or you wouldn't get anything else...yeah my parents were very old-school. Consequently I have a deep and abiding intolerance of brussel sprouts, parsnips & turnips

Yeah, mine were old school too, but we had quite a fat, greedy sausage dog, when we were young, & we could sneak our brussel sprouts etc. under the table to him
