cheat sheet 8 years 3 months ago #6305

Hi there,
I managed to get myself Lesovir-C brought back to me from Bangladesh almost 2 weeks ago and as I am in the middle of Mexico and basically self treating I was hoping somebody could answer me a couple of questions that are on the cheat sheet. Out of the following sentence...

4/52 into treatment FBC, Cr&E, LFTs, Hep C Viral Load

...I am not clear on 4/52, Cr&E and LFTs. I assume FBC is Full Blood Count and viral load i get.
Thanks in advance to anyone who can clear this up for me,
Ken

Hi Ken

I copied this info from previous threads by using the search function. I hope this helps and all the best with tx in Mexico.

FBC Full Blood Count and LFT Liver Function Test

CR&E Urea, Electrolytes, Creatine

4/52 is doctor code for 4 weeks

8/52 would be 8 weeks

.Thanks Lin,
I will start posting my results from the Lesovir-C as soon as I have some new info. It doesn't get as much "airtime" here as the twinvir. All iI know is that so far, after 13 days of tx, i hav had no side effects and for the last 4 days I have flelt better than I have in years. I am genotype 1a. F3 on my last fiboscan. Viral load around 5,500,000. Enzymes about 10x what they should be.
See what the test results come back as this week,
Ken

Hello kenbasman,

Essentially you don't strictly require any monitoring unless you get unwell but:

4/54 == 4 weeks post starting treatment

FBC = Full Blood Count = CBC = Complete Blood Count
Cr&E = Creatinine & Electrolytes = UEC = Urea Electrolytes Creatinine
LFTs = Liver Function Tests like Bilirubin, ALP, AST, GGT, Albumin
Hep C Viral Load = Quantitative HCV RNA

The 4 week test typically shows (80%) viral load zero and proves the meds are valid and working.

If you want an early proof your AST will fall rapidly back to normal

Once viral load is zero there is really not a lot of need for further monitoring (unless on Ribavirin)

The 12 weeks versus 24 weeks length decision is based on Fibrosis. If you have cirrhosis (F4, > 14 kPa, Hepascore > 0.5) then you need 24 weeks.

Next test after viral load zero can be SVR4 or SVR12 - Viral load 4 or 12 weeks post finishing treatment, and a VL=0 at 4 weeks = 96% chance of cure, and at 12 weeks 99% chance.
YMMV

London Girl,
You saw the original cheat sheet they have posted here, right? Not just the explanation Dr. Freeman gave in this thread? It is more detailed, I believe...

Mesochem makes API powders. They Make Sofosbuvir and they make Ledipasvir. These are the two APIs in Harvoni.
