Missed dose - worried - should I take extra? 8 years 5 months ago #8840
Hi, was 2 and a half hours late with my dose today. How bad is that? How much more depleted would the medication have gotten in my body in that time? Should I take an extra dose today to try and nuke any viruses that were encouraged to develop resistance by the holiday I gave them?

Can't find the post now but recall Dr James saying don't be alarmed if you're a bit off schedule. I wouldn't take an extra dose without speaking to the doc first. I took mine just before bed, which ranged from 10pm - midnite. NSW Australia. Genotype 1b 30+ years, F0-F1, VL 91,000 Feb 2015 (740,000 in 2010), Tx naive. Ordered Sof/Dac from Buyers Club 21 Sept, received 14 Oct. Virus UNDETECTED at 3 weeks AND 12 weeks (EOT) AND SVR4 AND SVR12 AND SVR24. A thousand thankyous to Dr James and the amazing FixHepC team.

You should be fine 2.5hrs isn't too bad. I do remember reading something about it on here. Someone will find it or maybe Dr Freeman will get back to you. Do not take extra dose! I do remember that part of it. Hello Phoenix, It is not even a slight worry. Only very low dose things like the mini pill require taking within a 3 hour daily window to be effective. In the PROTON study people taking 200 mg of Sofosbuvir+Riba had a 90% SVR rate, versus a 91% rate for 400 mg. You are not taking mini-sofosbuvir. YMMV

Thanks all. Very reassured! Sorry no reply for a while - been trying to just take the pills, then avoid all thoughts of disease and just live... The following user(s) said Thank You: LondonGirl, Gaj
