Unless you are near death sick I would adopt a waiting brief on this. Really, even if you are very unwell, and have a MELD > 15 I would treat with DAAs first and see where you are then.

The mechanism of action is caspase inhibition preventing apoptosis which is natural cell death, used for many purposes including killing cancer cells. It would be surprising (to me at least) if this medication did not result in higher HCC rates in cirrhotics.

Hi James ,I heed what you are saying,but I am 26 weeks SVR GT3A multiple legions and nodes, platlet count 40,on carvedilol. I watch the trial data regarding fibrosis, of all pharma companies through the markets, I have become a cynic of the medical fraternities ethos -? .
Thankyou for the advice - I am in a wait and observe mode to see how much improvement I get over the next 12 -18 months,but now am a bit more savy after the battle with customs here in WA and then with Mesochem to get the second 3mths of Dacla.
I am watching several stage 2 trials at the moment.- but I will not mention them as you have refreshed my memory of the desperation felt by all with this virus and will not mention any of the results until I run it past yourself or my specialist . Just getting prepared.
I hit the medical stonewall last year and was fortunate I had a great GP who gave me the scripts- the major hospital clinics refused.
