Help With Bloods please?
Hi friends,
I was hoping someone could help me out with deciphering blood tests my Viet. Vet friend got back.
He's been on tx for 4 wks.
I don't understand the jargon! :
HCV Quantitative RNA 1.54 x I0 E2 IU/mL
HCV Log 10 RNA 2.19 IU/mL
Does this mean he still has hep?
He's a GT 3.
2 transplants.
Cirrhosis.
He says now though, he's feeling quite good.
Hope someone can help, please?
Thanks & good luck to everyone.

His viral load is 154 so yes he still has detectable virus.
GT3s respond slower, and so do cirrhotics. It's not a great result, but it's not a bad result either.
He will be on 24 weeks and it's still early days.
YMMV

OK, well that's ok, sounds like it's working on him
Yes he's doing 24 wks.
Not sure what his VL was before TX because they refused to do a VL on him.
Anyway, thanks so much Dr J
