Thanks mate and yes my liver still feels a bit dodgy which is caused by fatty liver I believe, now the plan is to lose weight and try and sort that problem out. I don't think pills will sort that out

Hi all. I thought I should let you know I finished my 12 week course (Redemption 2) on the 30th December and had a letter from my specialist yesterday to confirm that the virus is gone. It says the virus is no longer delectable (which it wasn't even at week 4), also that my liver test and blood count are very good. He wants to see me after my blood test 12 weeks post treatment. Of course this it the one that will let me know if it has stayed away. I'm over the moon It's all down to the lovely people at fixhepc and the redemption trials they made available.

I have the same genotype as you. I am 4 weeks + 4 days into my treatment now and the discomfort comes and goes every now and then. Last week, for instance, I was feeling great, that is, no mental cloud, no tummy problems, no joint pains, etc., but then the day after I wasn't feeling all too well. I don't know if this is due to the treatment taking effect, relapses, etc. I am still very confused about it.

7.4 is less than 10.5 and this is one of those cases where less is more!

There was a 12.1 to 4.5 from one of my patients recently posted on Facebook.

It's great to see stuff like this happening.

Hopefully your global wellbeing is also up - that's really the point, rather than the numbers.

Looking back, it's almost exactly a year since you commenced treatment so it's wonderful to hear such good news from you and I'm glad that you are so happy.

Looking back over this thread I've just realised that no one has responded to you, and hope that by now you're feeling a good deal better.
There are ups and downs in the treatment process for most people. In some cases this is directly related to your body's response to the drugs, as must be obvious, but in others it can be related to your psychological state. You don't need me to tell you that being diagnosed with hepc is a huge shock for most of us and there's a lot of grief and emotional upset, together with anxiety, that goes along with it. It is well known that the disease is strongly associated with anxiety and depression. Being in the process of treatment doesn't always make you feel good either because there is hope, fear, uncertainty and often more mixed in with all the emotions you had in the first place which is a very potent cocktail.
I am not surprised you were feeling confused!
You will almost certainly be fine, however. Just look at the statistics and that should cheer you up - most people treated with DAA's are cured of hepc and this applies to GT3's too.

Hey Jorge, I'm was not GT3, but 1a - the next slightly tricky one. I had extreme highs and lows during treatment too. Within a few weeks I had more energy , feeling loads better & had a 'spring in my step' it was awesome, I believe the inutial feeling of wellbeing is caused by the reduction of inflammation which is quite rapid. Then I got a chest infection and felt dreadful. There are indeed great changes happening within the body, just remember they are for the better.

My advise is, keep hydrated but don't over-hydrate, eat fresh wholesome food and take Vitamin D at least 4 hrs away from your meds.

You need JavaScript enabled to view it. and their excellent Dr can advise you throughout by telephone, it's helpful if you email your bloids etc and explain any concerns; he was a total rock for me throughout, no problem was too small for his attention. Combined with Dr Freeman and his outstanding knowledge on all things HepC, you could not want for better advise and I suggest if you have any concerns, you take advantage of this.

Like LG I'm also a tricky 1a who is currently undetected after finishing treatment a few weeks ago. It is a bit of a roller coaster so be kind to yourself because it seems to be about good days and bad days but soon the good will outweigh the bad. Clearing the virus has certainly made an enormous impact on my emotional and physical well being so hang in there.

Everyone says it but rehydration really does make a difference.
