Hi Guys

Ive just been over at Hepatitis C without borders and Greg has just announced that shipments out of India with two of the larger suppliers he deals with and the meds are sent via DHL have been detained by customs - He has a strong suspicion that Gilead are behind it.

I have copied his post which follows below

Indian Customs is blocking exports of generic Hep C medicines.
This week all shipments out of India that I ahve organised have been stopped and returned to the supplier. DHL and Indian Customs are blocking all shipments by two larger suppliers that I deal with. It looks like the door is closing for Indian generics. Gilead and its minions and its $$$$ are screwing the world again
One upside is that you can still fly to India and buy the meds... I don't know where this is going to end but I think Big Pharma has just released its hounds

I'm not sure if that's going to be an option as its coming as a directive from the Indian government, Greg in further comment to his initial post recommends going to Bangladesh to buys med now.

I sure hopes it gets sorted for all the people whose lives and well being rest with those meds that have been stopped.

Who knows CJ, they have held the world to ransom with their greed manifesto.....

I'm hoping that it gets resolved soon, I really feel for the people who are expecting the meds.

The momentum won't stop because of the integrity of the people helping us I truly think that they will find ways around this absolutely shocking announcement
This is a kick in the gut a big one liken it to a stallion kick
I can't imagine the stress for Greg and all at FixHepC but we do know he is one hell of a mover and shaker and right on the back of big pharma and his passion is gonna keep going and I think that there will be doors that open for him to continue helping the hundreds a week that must be coming to this place for tx
Mesochem isn't shutting off import is it? so that's a fantastic avenue to get tx
Just do it now don't wait people
I'm so thankful to these guys who have helped me be my own boss. This means more than ever get your meds now I feel.
I hope this makes sense to people thinking about tx

Oh nooo this is terrible, I know someone whose meds are on their way but haven't left India yet.
Really, the amount of people that are choosing this pathway are a drop in the ocean compared with the huge amount in sales Gilead are making .....

I hear you LG - its unbloody believable.

Im hoping it gets resolved and soon, one of the people who made a comment there is a person who connects people with their meds, a really good person. They said(with what I believe is accurate) is that this can happen in India from time to time. From this I feel a sense of relief and that it will indeed get sorted. He said he had no issues with a shipment out of India going to Italy yesterday. So lets hope for your mate that this is just a blip and shit will get sorted.

Wow this really sucks :-1: I was so anxious waiting for my meds, afraid they wouldn't make it through customs :S and after hearing about Gilead getting involved with the Indian pharms I had a bad feeling something like this might be coming :angry:
I hope the people waiting for their meds from India will at least have their money refunded.
This is all the more reason to get your meds asap before any other avenues suffer the same unbelievable out reaching greed of Gilead to completely control the market with their outrageous prices and getting some of the revenue even from the Indian market that is still priced way below Gilead's.
I personally went through Kingswood without any problems. Bangladesh, China, Kingswood and the Redemption trails appear to still be reliable options :+1: if still contemplating this l urge you to act now and use one of the other sources until we get more information on this f-up development.
We all deserve to have access to affordable reliable tx!

Curious to see if Mike knows any more information about this. He seems to be the go to guy with the most information regarding importation issues. Geeze he may actually be sleeping for once :silly:

Hey CC2b yep still loads of good chains of supply and hopefully the people waiting on their meds get them. I hope the issue is getting sorted and alternatives can be made for these people. Hopefully its a blip and it just takes a few days for Greg and his people in India to get it sorted and get the meds back on their journey.


The two suppliers from what Greg has said are reputable and vetted (all the more reason to use the information given in this forum). I'm sure either Greg or Doc will post with some more information as it comes to hand.

I can understand the licenced companies preventing shipment but this appears from Greg's comments to be blocking by customs? As India doesn't recognise the Gilead patents why is this happening? Hopefully it gets challenged in their courts.

I do sleep...a little.
This is not good. No way to sugarcoat it. If your REDEMPTION meds were sourced from India and detained, I would imagine you will now be getting a package from elsewhere.
More to come. Still looking. We were doing just fine before India. We will be fine now.
