Very impressed with the process. Appointment with Dr. Freeman on Tuesday. Ordered meds on Wednesday. Received meds by Monday. Everyone was very professional and answered all my questions in a timely manner. They have really restored my faith in the medical field and customer service! Now I am trying to decide when is the best time to start the meds. I will be off work for 5 days but will be very busy with traveling and family. I am hoping to feel better by Christmas though. Can anyone recommend when to start if you work? Has anyone started on Monday when going back to work and made it all week?

Great news Redhead. I would say taking them is just like getting them- seems almost too easy for something so momentous. I have seen other people thinking this over- when to start, what they have coming up- it is not going to matter, the side effects for most are unnoticeable, and if you are one who gets the odd headache (drink plenty of water) there is no way of telling when that would be- weekend, or how many days later.
Of the many people I have seen complete meds, I can't think of anyone who was working before treatment that has had to take time off.
So- my advice would be- get started! Exciting, good luck.
Genotype 3 30 years, 2x treatment interferon/ribavirin non responder. Cirrhosis 17 years. Fibroscan, decompensating, 40 down to 22 by 29/3/16- now down to 6.5, normal, no cirrhosis. Started Buyers Club Sof/Dac 14 Nov 15. SVR 12 29/0716

Some patients, when they start the medications get some symptoms (muscle and joint aches, headaches) that are like the feeling you get just before a full on dose of influenza. It never gets to that, but there can be a feeling of being not quite right. Some people report a mild high on starting, some nothing.

It would be fair to say that just about nobody says "I got so sick I could not go to work" - the new treatments are so much milder than the old ones.

Friday morning would be my pick. You will be fine on Friday and most of the virus will be dead by Monday.
YMMV

Hi Redhaed
When starting i was was ok with no side effects to report. Then about 10 days into my journey I had a feeling of mild euphoria and a feeling of energy and clarity like I hadn’t had in many years/decades.
The only issues I had was a flip flop of moods from good to a small pity party. I was told this might happen but I didn’t take heed and fell to an up and down mood swing, not bad at all but enough that I noticed it and should have listened. Other than that it was like taking a placebo.

I say wait until your back from vacation and then, with out hesitating at all,.........go for it.
Dr Freeman, Monkmed and other staff will be there for you all the way.
You can also document your journey right here on Fixhepc by making your own journal/topic, then you'll be able to look back and read your epic results and journey.

You’ll be HCV free right after 1/1/2018!

Hi Redhead.

Assume you have started treatment by now. Everyone's experience is a little different.

I worked during treatment, but cut myself some slack when I needed to.

The biggest surprise was the emotional ups and downs, which I did not anticipate. The results are well worth it.

Congratulations on taking the leap of faith, and upon your decision to get treated now. It's the best decision you'll ever make!
