well, all i know is that no one here has done only ribavirin and sofosbuvir WITHOUT also having daclatasvir. The Riba is like a shotgun killing all kinds of things, good and bad sometimes in a crude manner whereas the dac is like a laser, designed to get only a piece of the viron's reproductive molecule apparatus. Many of us were UND at 4 weeks with only sofosbuvir and daclatasvir. Its a shame the daclatasvir wasn't recommended to be included with your treatment by your Dr.

A consult with Dr. Freeman would certainly be a good thing to do, he's lots more knowledgable than a lot of the so called 'specialits'.
Best of luck to you.
GT 2b; since 80's, no prior tx, sofosbuvir and daclatasvir compounded from API's at Kingswood Pharmacy in Sydney, started tx nov 6,2015, undetected at 4 wks, UND at 8 weeks, UND at 1 week after EOT, UND at 4 weeks after EOT and UND at 8 weeks after EOT. " I feel GOOD!! I knew that I WOULD!"

My GI doc told me that the insurance co would probably only approve sof/riba for GT2b since that is what is still recommended here in the US. I told him that I did not want to take riba unless absolutely necessary and that I wanted to take sof/dac. He agreed we could do the sof/dac but I would have to show some significant liver damage for the insurance to approve. Well I didn't show any liver damage and my liver labs were normal and VL was low. So of course my insurance denied me 2X in less than a month. I had already found this wonderful place and the rest is history. UND at 4wks and just finishing up my 5th week. So glad I did not have to do the riba :)
I posted an article about retreatment if someone fails DAA's. It is with the GT3 threads, check it out, it is an interesting article and helps you to understand how some may fail. I think the thread is about Dac failure.
Good Luck #flower
