Hello folks I'm geno type 3 and I only found out about this site on Sunday after seeing the interview on sunrise so glad I didn't change channels, any way I saw my gp yesterday and he couldn't/wouldn't sign the authorisation form or fill out a script I've just call the number on the main page a a lovely lady is sending me info and hopefully I can get the ball rolling to get rid of this condition that has consumed my life for the last 19 years.
I had my specialist co worker call me today and talk to me and I mentioned the club and they hadn't heard of it or interested in it and said I should wait as the meds will be available sometime in the new year I asked when and she couldn't give me an answer.
So hopefully I'll hear from someone here soon .

Hi AA,
Welcome. Your experience with your specialist isn't unexpected around here....assuming that their coworker has something vaguely to do with gastroenterology or hepatology and hasn't heard of this site and then says they are not interested in finding out more, perhaps they should contemplate a career change?
But there are other clinicians who are supportive, you just have to find them. What state are you in?
Anyway enough rant from me. While waiting for more info have a look round starting with the "getting treated" tab. If you have any questions fire away and someone will try to answer them or point you to someone who can.

Welcome Another Attempt. You've found yourself at a wonderful place here, it's very informative and supportive. If you're like me you may take awhile to navigate around and keep discovering sections and stories accidentally - it's great!
I am trying to get the ball rolling with GP2U but not getting it right it seems...
Maybe I should call the number you said you did!
Good Luck

Welcome AA!
While you will get tons of support and understanding here, the main thing you will get is well. Cured. Free of this crap. This is where the keys are to release us from our HCV prison.
Your sentence will be commuted.

Hi AA, finding this place is the first step, I'm from a little ways out of town, but I went to Sydney, got my meds a few weeks ago from the pharmacy, and now 4 weeks later im undetected. Its all good, get well soon, best of luck. Driving around Sydney was a bit of a challenge though but I made it in and out and in again when i needed to...damn left hand turn roundabouts though!
GT 2b; since 80's, no prior tx, sofosbuvir and daclatasvir compounded from API's at Kingswood Pharmacy in Sydney, started tx nov 6,2015, undetected at 4 wks, UND at 8 weeks, UND at 1 week after EOT, UND at 4 weeks after EOT and UND at 8 weeks after EOT. " I feel GOOD!! I knew that I WOULD!"

Welcome AA, great to have you here. Have a look round the site and feel free to ask any question...as Mike said, this is where you will find the keys to a life free of this scourge. Hear you on the clueless and/or unhelpful specialists telling you to wait - hey we've all been there - if by some miracle the meds do get Cabinet approval at their exhorbitant pricetag, you can bet it won't be universal availability. So if you're not almost out for the count with fibrosis (but not too far!), you'll have to get at the back of a very, very long queue.
All the best
