Thanks London Girl. I have been thinking about the effects of the disease on us and how hard it is to know because most of us have had it for over 15 years. I am normally pretty high energy but sometimes I just crash. It will be interesting to see how and if energy levels change once it is gone. I am looking forward to zipping around in the morning as I was born at 6 am and have always been a morning girl. Hope all is well.

You will love Tassie Honker, make sure you get over to Strahan for a day or two and see some of that beautiful forest whilst your there. No doubt you probably get to meet the Doc and he will clue you up on where to go :)

Hi Zhuk,

Thanks. The meds arrived without a hitch and now waiting for me. It will probably be a bit anti-climactic after following the news and progress of treatment protocols for the past 15 years. And now the day has arrived for treatment with high rate of effectiveness and minimal side effects.

I will definitely go to Cradle Mountain. The photos are fantastic and I know will be much better in reality. Thanks for the support.

Thanks for the tip Paul. I will give Strahan a look. I grew up in the woods and feel most at home in the forest. That is what I am seeking in Tassie.

The is fast approaching. I leave for Hobart on Sunday night and will arrive on Monday afternoon in Hobart. First order will be to visit the Buyers Club to pick up my meds. Must say I am excited and nervous.

I would be interested in any tips on whole foods restaurants or shops and juice bars.

Thanks. I would like to do that but thought I would see how I tolerate the meds before signing up. I'm optimistic and looks spectacular.

Good luck and safe travels Honker, how exciting for you. I, like many others here, love Tasmania. Have trekked at Cradle Mountain in the 1990's it is superb a must do I agree with the other people, also last September 2015 I went to Shipstern Bluff to honour the ten year passing anniversary of my dad a salty seadog, it is past Port Arthur and Eaglehawk neck which are so beautiful too, and you need to a hike in around two hours through the wilderness to witness the most angry and majestic wave I have ever seen, on the way are tessellated pavements, caves, wondrous beaches, scenery of many colours and a total feast for the senses; there is now a walk through the three capes you can do. I went to the Caves in Hastings they were amazing. Also tried Hang-gliding near there on a line for beginners. I am terrified of heights and loved it so much I did it twice. There is an airwalk in Hastings too...it is amazing suspended above the beautiful virgin forest. Bruny Island is so beautiful, catch the car ferry from near Hobart and you can just scrape fresh oysters off the rocks and enjoy them. There are the most beautiful places so close to Hobart, none of these are far away apart from Cradle Mountain...as mentioned I did that another trip. The mountain overlooking Hobart is a quick steep narrow drive up to see the whole city and surrounds and will surely wet your appetite for more of this amazing Island. Food is great in Tasmania, especially if you like seafood, yummmmm. I am sure others can add to the list for you, have a wonderful time, and of course, wishing you a great outcome for treatment, Love from Ariel #duck #flower #love :P
