Well, according to the tracking, my shipment should be here on Monday! I'm nervous and excited and a whole lot of other things. Just wanted to introduce myself and say hi and all of that. At the moment, I'm pretty ok. I get a lot of headaches and joint aches and my right thumb locks a bit in the morning. I'm interested to see if EVERY little symptom I have disappears from this treatment or if some things are unrelated. No matter what happens, I have hope. *insert unicorn emoji here*

I was also Genotype 4ACD. I started 12 weeks of Harvoni on 8/12/16 and completed treatment on 11/3/16. I was 65 at the time and have discovered that some of the problems I still have are age related. The only new symptom I now experience is low to moderate tinnitus. It started about the third week of treatment after a few days of dizziness. It is a small price to pay for clearing HCV.

Best of luck. Get plenty of sleep and don't forget to drink water.

Yeah, that doesn't sound too bad. Annoying, but could be so much worse. :) I had tinnitus for a couple years a long time ago. Never knew why, and then it just sort of disappeared. So that's always a possibility, too. Thanks for the tips. I'll make sure and drink lots of water and sleep.

I also want to encourage you to keep a log or dairy of your treatment. You can record the time you take the medication each day and any new symptoms or physical and mental changes. I can't tell you how many times I have referred back to my notes.

So interesting that you mentioned that. I was just talking to my friend about that idea last night. Like something that tracks what I eat, how much water, how I feel etc. Ok I collect blank notebooks for my work and art and stuff. So I'll just use one of those and work out what things I want to monitor. I'm a little nervous, I'm not going to lie. You'd think I'd only be excited, since I'm now going to be curing something that would have eventually killed me. But no, I'm still nervous. The unknown...

Here is something I saw on Twitter Sept 1st. An 83 yr old patient kept a treatment diary. I also had unexpected dizziness and asked a neighbor to check on me each day because I live alone. My dizziness passed in just a few days.

Thanks! Yeah after your last message I went out and bought a larger notebook for more columns. I want to keep track of EVERYTHING. I'm sure it will help me and it might help others too down the road, if I find common denominators. :)

Hi Erica and Welcome!

I hope your medication arrives today! I remember I was pretty impatient to get started and although a little nervous I was also hopeful and excited.

A journal is a great idea. I noticed that the brain fog started to lift pretty much when the virus disappeared but other things are more subtle. I've just had a pretty full on week of cruising and find that now I can stay the distance through days that once would have flattened me physically and mentally. Not to mention the return of the ability to drink cocktails!

Not every health concern disappears but my general sense of well being has certainly increased. We have spoken on this forum before about the depressive affects of this virus. Although I hid these affects for quite a few years I look back and realise just what an impact it had on my mental health.

I wish all of these good things for you once that virus is gone. Good luck with your treatment (and absolutely drink water, sleep and be good to yourself).

Oh Coral, that was such a nice communication! Yes, according to the tracking it will be here sometime in the next 18 hours. So excited. Nervous and excited. I can't wait to see what it does and how things change. I'm pretty perceptive of my own cellular goings on, so I'm very interested to see what my body does with the initial shock of these drugs coming in and murdering this virus. I have a feeling it won't be entirely comfortable for a few days. Haha. But soooo worth it.

Thanks for letting me know how this experience has been for you. I'll keep you posted on what happens. It's nice to have people who understand.

Doc, that is EXACTLY what I'm hoping for. So far so good. Nice healthy food, tons of water, some green tea and milk thistle, some cal-mag powder, a 30min run. I'm in the mood to murder some virus. Who's coming with me?!

Hi Erica,

I am posting a link to an older thread. It's regarding Milk Thistle; it is recommended that you stop using it during treatment.

OMG...THANK YOU SO MUCH. I'm trying to do everything perfectly. Ok all those teas are officially cancelled for the next 80 days! And congratulations on your own success with treatment. Any tips I'm all ears. As of day 4 it's been fairly uneventful...which is just how I like it. I eat healthy, I exercise, I get good sleep and drink plenty of water. :)
