Good luck on your journey!
I was just messaged by another guy in the US I have been “mentoring”. He got his shipment from Rachel! That makes two!! I think I am as happy as he is. Testing up here is very expensive. That is the issue I have been looking in to the most lately. Most labs don’t want to mess with it. The one who gave me a quote wanted $5100.
So, I have my 4 week labs Wednesday. That will be “my” test.
How many samples do you think the doc has tested by now?
Take Care,
Mike

17 November 2015 at 5:32 am #4071How many samples tested Mike? I’m not sure enough to be convinced that everyone has the real deal and will continue to get the most pure generics on the planet atm. They have a lot to loose if one batch ended up any different than pure and I don’t think this will happen. You will know very soon with certainty that you have the authentic meds. Not that you don’t know that now. Em
17 November 2015 at 7:42 am #4089Major props to you em, a true act of bravery and generousity of behalf of all. Thanks for what you are doing mate.

Question how can we collectively provide free access to those who can’t afford the $1000US price? It would be amazing if we could attract a philanthropist so that we could offer this to everyone ie, cirrhotics with no money. Free access will come but at what cost to countries such as Australia $20 billion? My prediction is that there won’t be universal access but tested based on severity maybe. Em
17 November 2015 at 12:07 pm #4110Wholeheartedly agree with you em. There are amazingly generous people out there who have not hesitated to help complete strangers…I think this is absolutely an avenue which could help those not able to afford it. The question is: how can that be structured & applied to more than just the odd very fortunate individual?
Far as access goes, considering every other Western country has a system of triaged-supply (like the two most comparable to us, Canada & the UK) it beggars belief that anyone would cling to the notion that Australia could have universal access – even if the price negotiated was half the original, its still gonna be in the ballpark of $10bil.
No Govt is ever going to wear that, against every other condition needing PBS coverage.

That’s what I’m afraid of too zhuk, there’s such a bad stigma attached to having this virus.
That’s one of the reasons I thought to go NOW for the generics for my son.
Who knows how long we’d be waiting if we wait for the Gov to hand over that sort of money?!
Probably years & years….

I’m F0 with a 262,000 VL so the likelihood would be that I would sit at the back of a 233,000-strong queue, if DAA’s were approved tomorrow. And yes the stigma/politics is a big part of it too…no touchy-feely human-interest stories for the public here.
Very likely years waiting for my condition to worsen sufficiently. Or, I could be “lucky” and it could suddenly take a turn for the worse, in a shorter period of time. Thing is, if you have, or are given the wherewithall to do otherwise – why would you wait for that eventuality?

ALT 2617 November 2015 at 3:06 pm #4122Correct me if I am wrong, but didn’t Jonas Salk come up with a way to protect people from getting polio. Did he sell the formula to a hedge fund for billions? It was (and may still be) a required vaccine in the US and Salk gave the rights to make it away.
We need to eradicate this scourge. The vaccine is coming. The cure is here.
As Salk said “You can’t patent the sun.”

Hep C is no less a scourge than polio is/was, just slower to cripple/kill and more invisible. And of course a whole lot less palatable in the public and political eye. What if there was developed an actual ‘cure’ for a particular form of cancer…how would it sit with the community to withold it from all but those who were sickest?
“No, I don’t care about getting re-elected,” said no politician ever lol

7/07/16 UND SVR 2417 November 2015 at 11:04 pm #4143Hey Everyone
Mike I love that Jonas Salk quote ‘you can’t patent the sun’. Zhuk don’t get me started on overlaying this debate onto cancer. Shit I don’t doubt there has already been a cure for some cancers bought and destroyed in my lifetime. Cancer is big money to international pharmaceutical and medical community. Pie in the sky? I think not. Em
