I go on GPTU and they have GP doctors but I assume I need a specialist. I click the link and I click Dr Freemen but he is never available for appointments. What Doctor can I see? Do I need a webcam camera or is it through the phone and do I mail or fax my medical records they need (viral load, genotype and AST/ALT)?

While I suspect there are others as well, Dr Joshua Devsam has experience with HCV patients and will arrange any specialist oversight required. You scan your records to your computer and then upload the files from there to gp2u via the App. I suspect you will need a webcam for your computer or a laptop/tablet/phone with camera facilities for the consultation to work successfully. If you can’t arrange one of those then email gp2u and see what they suggest.

Negative Iron stains.11 June 2016 at 6:17 am #18874Hi Tommy, I was able to schedule a consult with a doctor at GP2U by simply going onto their app and seeing what appointment times were available and picking one out. The doctor I scheduled with emailed about 1/2 hr before and called me on time. No skype or video necessary, but he asked about my current labs etc. Easy and hassle free.

Hep C RNA NOT DETECTED”11 June 2016 at 7:02 am #18880Hi Tommy
I have detailed my GP2U experience but first I thought I would let you know that it’s a public holiday weekend including Monday in most states of Australia as well as Tasmania.
The doctors – I believe that any general practitioner can write a script and this includes Dr Devsam. I would suggest that you book a 30 minute initial consultation so that it allows plenty of time for discussion. I have been able to book a consultation with Dr Freeman by checking the GP2U appointments daily as depending on availability the doctors can change. I would also suggest that you contact fixhepc or GP2U by email or by phone to determine Dr Freemans availability and they could answer any other question that you may have. I uploaded all relevant documents to the site beforehand simply by taking a photo of these and following upload instructions on the site. I downloaded Skype to my tablet and the consultation worked fine. 30 minutes before the consultation was due I received a courtesy call from a GP2U tech to confirm that my connection was working and to ask if I needed any assistance. I hope this helps.

Hep C RNA NOT DETECTED”11 June 2016 at 7:19 am #18886Your response and everybody else was a big help. I stress like a SOB about stuff. I could afford the treatment and now need to make it happen. Thanks again. Posting this and getting your responses was a big help in calming me down. I don’t have anxiety issues really but just STRESS OUT over doing something new or different.

Let us know how it goes and I suggest that you could consider creating your own thread to document your journey through Tx if you feel comfortable with that.

7/07/16 UND SVR 2411 June 2016 at 9:05 am #18897Hi Tommy, I was stressing just like you when I couldn’t find an appointment with Dr Freeman and finally just made a half hour appointment with Dr Joshua Devsam. I have to tell you he was great! Very knowledgable and very easy to talk to Just like pat said, just have all your labs downloaded onto your computer so that you can forward them to GP2U and they can send you a copy of your script to you via the computer. I had also not used Skype before and it was all pretty easy.
Now if you need to actually call Australia or India I would suggest you download either viber or whatsapp app to your phone, tablet, or pc. I went with Kingswood and had to make several phone calls. I used viber and actually had to buy some minutes cuz Kingswood’s # is a landline, otherwise it cost nothing if they have the app. The least amount of minutes available to buy cost $3.99 usd if I remember correctly and I used less than a dollar of that money with as I said several calls I made. It also took me a little research to figure out how to dial it correctly. Let me know if you need help with this and I will have to search back on how to on one of my posts a while ago
Best wishes
