This really sucks! HepC already has it’s own problems getting tx and respect, as many ppl think it’s simply a drug addict’s disease! Then another nutjob goes and creates havoc by allegedly exposing innocent patients to this dreaded disease! Anyone hear about this?!!

G1a dx’d in 1992, Biopsy F2 VL 8mill +. Tried tx with Interferon/Riba, back in 2008 didn’t last long it felt horribly ugly!! I stopped tx, after 5 weeks!!
    Started tx 6/1/16 with Harvoni.

Sadly drug abuse and addiction crosses all social boundaries.

It’s interesting that she says she does not have Hep C. Hard to transmit something you don’t have, regardless of whether you’re stealing drugs… It’s also very easy to prove with a Ab and PCR if she ever had the disease or did have the disease.

The claim not to have Hep C might be based on having a negative PCR (due to natural clearance or getting treated). A lawyer would allow stating “I don’t have hep C” in this context as it it true. It might leave out “but I did, and got rid of it”… but that’s lawyers for you.

    YMMV

Thanks fretboard. Yes it does suck. The only positive thing out of that story is the few sentences at the end that indicate that Hep C can be readily treated. It may prompt someone who is sitting anxious and silent with the virus to seek information about the new medications.
