Yes Mike, I know the “fear”, I felt it and worried about it until I decided, F-it, they’re gonna have to beat me down to take this medicine away from me.. I think and know that some of that fear is actively promoted on other hepc boards. The one I used to read before I found this, hep central delphi has a moderator that immediately deletes any reference to fixhepc or generics, scolds anyone who mentions it, and writes in big bold letters that it is ILLEGAL to import medicine into the US. She called medicine from China “poison” and equated it to poison chinese dog food. She is suppressing a lot of good information and spreading a lot of misinformation. I have to wonder if she and that board are getting money from Gilead. They also praise Gilead on that board as if it were a benevolent god. Most of the people on that board however seem to for some reason be smug lucky duckies who were given medicine at no cost and with no problems, not sure why. I am concerned though about the active promulgation of misinformation on that board and others that may be dissuading people from getting cured.

18 November 2015 at 3:25 pm #4187Odd. Now that you mention it. I posted quite a bit of info on Hepmag forum about generics and was getting regular responses. Then they just stopped. Coincidence?
I hope so.

18 November 2015 at 4:29 pm #4190Here is the last message I got from anyone on the Hepmag site. The “Mike” referred to is one of the global moderators there. A cured one….
Hey, Coach Mike:
Thanks for your message and the inside dope [<--drug reference] on the forum. It's interesting that Mike does not respond to the specifics of the post but does play to general fears about the quality of drugs from abroad. (I read recently that India manufactures something like 40% of the drugs sold in North America.) Thanks for the fixhepc.com tip. I read a couple of forum threads there and was impressed by your persistence and inventiveness in getting your meds from Mesochem. From what I gather, you paid $1,916.00 for a three-month API supply, but the [non-commercial] value declared by Mesochem on the customs form was $57.00--is that correct? I've noted your reluctance to visit India as a medical tourist, for I can see how having quality medicine shipped from China inside a week trumps hanging out in India at greater expense, length, and uncertainty. Good luck on your cure. Also, thanks for introducing me to the word "hinky." Quote from: Coach Mike on November 12, 2015, 09:54:53 PM Hi, There is something hinky about this "Mike" guy. He may be more than he alludes. He is a global moderator on a forum plastered with Harvoni ads. His past posts have justified Gilead's crazy high price by saying how much they spent buying out the company that developed Sovaldi. They have done that 3 times over. He ignores mentioning the Australian website (no ads there) set up by a doctor who encourages people to get legitimate generics from the manufacturer by whatever means possible, Something funny here. Go check out fixhepc.com. A lot of good info there. I would go to Australia before going to India anyday. Coach M I think "BAD" Mike shut down my ability to message people on Hepmag. Good Mike

7/07/16 UND SVR 2418 November 2015 at 4:47 pm #4191You might be right, I think there is a lot of this going on. On that other board when I posted something criticizing Gilead, I was scolded by the moderator, who told me ” A lot of us owe our lives to Gilead and we don’t like to see negative comments posted about them”.
When I noted on there how I was getting refused treatment by the insurance co I was advised to “pray”, “wait”, and apply to Gilead’s now defunct patient assistance program, and it was defunct when they were advising me to apply to it.
Hopefully anyone on there who actually needs access isn’t going to sit there and “pray” and finds their way here.

7/07/16 UND SVR 2418 November 2015 at 9:34 pm #4199I received mine today! Took only 2 .5 days, I’m amazed. Amazed, ecstatic, excited and afraid. That list of emotions could go on forever and the one thing that wouldn’t be mentioned is Hopeless.
A week ago I was in a pit of despair. For the third time this year another healthcare professional told me I had ‘Good Hep’. It made me so angry for them to say that then and it infuriates me to think they’re still saying it to others. We can remove this disease from the planet in our lifetime. We simply need to remove the more evil disease, greed.
I’m sick of being angry, time to work at helping others.
Thank you Mike, I really don’t know where I would be without you.

7/07/16 UND SVR 2418 November 2015 at 10:39 pm #4202Great news Henry. Onward and upward.
Geez it bugs me the way all these anti generic forums (and it’s the same with the ones here) censor information about generics without notification or comment. Posts, user accounts are just disappeared. Who do these people think they are? Gilead’s private secret frickin’ police? It’s so weak and cowardly. I can only conclude they behave like this because they don’t have good enough arguments to logically and rationally debate their position.
So to all the Gilead Secret Police out there, grow a set and come here and duke it out with us if you think you’re so bloody right.
19 November 2015 at 1:47 am #4208Hey, c’mon they’re not all bad!
If if wasn’t for both AHCS & the hepmag forum refusing my registration with no reply or explanation, I might never have found this place Lol
So they’re doing one thing right
And outstanding news Henry, great to hear you have your meds now and hope. Viva la revolution!

Tomorrow the big day? The hard part is over. Get your life back!
You were my 3rd “student”. All passed the course. One more since you and one in the works-that I know of. There may be many more flying low-I hope so. If each of us who succeeds can help five more do the same……
Those guys and gals at Customs- they probably all know someone who has this crap, and can’t afford a cure.
They are looking for bombs and heroin- not hope.
Down the road,
Mike

7/07/16 UND SVR 2419 November 2015 at 11:46 pm #4249Hey Mike,
I just wanted to give you a shout and let you know that I got my meds today! Placed my order with Rachel on Monday, and the pkg got here this morning. No script needed, but I did have a business address for her to ship it to, and assured her I was not eating it as is. I am waiting for all my encapsulating supplies to arrive so I can start building pills. I am still looking for a dr. to monitor my labs but I have a couple of consults scheduled, so I’m not worried. I have the meds now, and I have hope. I’m excited and scared of the “what ifs”, but the alternative to doing nothing is just not acceptable. THANK YOU, for your courage to order your meds, your eagerness to share your story, and your input on the scary process of encapsulating. To anyone in the US who is on the fence, JUST DO THIS. My package sailed through customs, and after all the testing that Fix hep C has done on Mesochem API’s, I feel fairly secure enough to take the meds. I want to beat this, and I want to share and celebrate all our success stories!20 November 2015 at 12:03 am #4250Awesome news, Shady. A real testament to Mike’s trailblazing and the security of the import process, plus Mesochem’s credentials.
. The pioneering vision of Dr James’ is happening, all round. So happy for you guys, great stuff.
