    @henry

Been a while since I visited. Wanted to share my 7 week labs. Seems I’m undetectable already!

Thank you mgalbrai. Without your information and guidance I would be lost still. I followed the method and received my cure. I was so nervous and anxious that I was being scammed or given poison. I hope others find this method. I can’t express how grateful I am to have been given a second chance at life.

Even if it hadn’t worked for me, I would still feel reborn because of the hope it has given me. I feel like a sell-out for not doing more, but what can I do? I feel like sharing my story on social media will only tighten the grip of regulation. I feel like if I give specifics the path will be shut for others. I don’t know what to do.

Without going into detail, I have done a small part for some loved ones. Everything worked as it did for me.

    Thank you, m.

You are very welcome, Henry. YOU, however, made the choice. Good for you!!

Below is the latest Anthem criteria for Harvoni insurance approval.

Thanks Vorozo for pointing out the age, liver condition and alcohol/drug restrictions.

    Hold on there, Mike.

The “anthem” criteria say approval for application for treatment may be approved if (I) over 18 etc … AND (V) has compensated or decompensated liver disease AND (VII) is not taking drugs or alcohol AND (VIII) patient is already on a ribavarin treatment…

Also, there seems to be a missing clause (VI) which is probably of the form “AND if we can think of any other reason not to approve treatment”

Looks to me like Anthem is a health insurance company that noone with Hep C would ever want to touch with a barge pole!

… I think you meant to say: “Hopefully the other PBMs will bin these ridiculous pre-conditions and follow the Australian model.”

    Just my two cents…

    Thanks V for catching that.

I have a couple of questions that I am sure can and need to be answered here:

    1. Is HCV, at any level of fibrosis, a “compensated” liver disease is the liver is doing its job?
    2. Does the FDA approve the use of, say Harvoni, for children?
    3. As for the alcohol/drug restrictions, I just don’t know. I feel like as long as we have private insurers paying huge amounts to cure people, they are going to make demands that people stay cured. But, this is not something that should be handled on a “one size fits all” approach.

All the insurers should be forced to join here and defend their policies on coverage.

Thanks for keeping straight here V.

If you are comfortable with sharing on social media that can only serve to lessen the grip of regulation. The more people that know, the greater the pressure on those who would attempt to restrict access. But it is not necessary for you to share the specifics of the “dance steps” you learnt from Mike, or that your dance partner was the lovely Rachel #love. Much has changed over the last couple of months and there are more options available now including those like the Redemption trials. Just tell the story of your journey in outline and point to this forum and/or Greg Jefferies blog as to where people can find the details.

And if you or others are not comfortable with that level of disclosure on the net then just spreading the word among those you trust or suspect may need help is fine. I have been able to pass on the news to two people I would never have suspected (plus one I did) in the last month or two due to sharing my status and journey with friends and associates. :)

    OK,
    Did some homework:

Alcohol abuse: my insurance considers that to be >3 drinks per day

Nearly all insurers require a signed statement regarding alcohol and drug “abuse”.

Harvoni has never been tested for pediatric use.

    Compensated Liver Disease:
According to the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases (AASLD, 2009, 2015),
    the specific criteria for compensated liver disease include all of the following: a total bilirubin;
serum albumin; prothrombin time/INR; presence of ascites; and presence of hepatic
encephalopathy. However, these criteria do not establish a comprehensive definition of
compensated liver disease. The AASLD guidance refers to compensated liver disease as
Class A based on the Child Pugh-Turcotte (CPT) classification scoring system.

So, is anyone with liver disease that has not progressed would be a child A and thus considered compensated Liver Disease?
No, Child Pugh is a measure of cirrhosis severity

I don’t know what last year’s criteria was based on. I think F-3/4. If so, this is a big step backward. This requirement has been the major reason for denial of tx in the U.S.

Folks in the U.S. reading this.
    You can do this too!!

Another story of successful importation of affordable HCV treatment:

    Hi Mike,

The meds have arrived. It feels awesome. They came through without any hassles because i had the prescription and the letter from the doctor. My friend will start the treatment probably by the end of this week and very hopefully of killing the virus. i think the customs and usfda has realized the importance of these drugs and looks like they are not interested in checking each and every parcel.

I thank you for the meaningful information you have been sharing on the forum and helping out so many people out there.. Also have thanked Parag Jain from Bull Pharmachem, he has been helpful

    thanks

I feel the need to post this since I recently imported Meds (Sof/Led) and want others who have been denied by the evil US insurance companies to have the same chance to get healthy. Don’t wait! The time to act is now! The TPP legislation the USA is working to ratify and make law will make it more difficult or impossible to not only have these meds mailed to USA, but possibly even prevent going to Australia, India or Bangladesh and bringing the meds back with you. Therefore, anyone who wants treatment needs to act now; right now 3 months of meds can be mailed to USA with the proper documents.

Also, the recent announcements from United Health Care and other insurers that they have relaxed requirements sound great, however the last statement of the UHC announcement (subject to availability) is pretty vague. IMO, I bet they will only allow so many per year! Too many at once will impact their earnings! If you are not F3 or greater you could wait years! For less than $2000 USD you are cured!! Shout out to mgalbrai . Thanks Mike!

Thank you for your posts. I live in USA as well and have a few questions.
    1) Medicine that you buy in Australia are made by compounding pharmacy from Chinese APIs?
    2) Is every batch of APIs tested for authenticity?
    3) buying in India vs buying in Australia

    Thanks Dave

    Hi T,
It depends. If you go to Australia and get your meds through GP2U, I would I imagine they would be compounded from APIs manufactured by Beijing Mesochem. Mesochem is the premier supplier of top quality HCV APIs. I have never heard of a substandard test result of their products. Yes, they would be tested.
If you enter Dr. Freeman’s REDEMPTION trial, your meds could be shipped from a number of sources-India, Australia and perhaps others. Shipment and quality guaranteed. Find out more about these trials on the fixhepc home page.
All Indian suppliers who appear on fixhepc have been vetted and found to be legitimate.
Importation is a pretty straightforward process and requires a prescription from the U.S. or GP2U, among other documentation required for shipping.
Feel free to email if you need further info.
Also, others reading this can, and probably will, add to this information.
There is a lot of good advice here from people who have been “there”.
    Good people who care.
    Good Luck!
You obviously want to get well.
You have come to the right place.
    Mike

tdave, the API’s are constantly tested and have been tested. You have nothing to fear. It’s all coming from primarily Mesochem (Mesochem is the only one I know of). Read all the stories of 1 or 2 months on here with VL undetected. No one is complaining about product. So the meds coming from Australia or India or Bangladesh are all quality products. Email mglabrai if you have any other questions. He can be of tremendous assistance to you, as he was to me and many others here.
