…..What Gilead would no doubt call “untapped revenue potential”
And they DO call it things like that. Just how feral do obscene entities such as Gilead Sciences have to get before somebody with power and influence rains on their parade?
You’re basing your timescale on hepc elimination on static figures, surely, Vororo? In my country (the UK) the money that’s been made available will barely maintain the figures taking into account year-on-year new infections. hmy:
I have moved this thread into Patient Stories and locked it for now. If someone can verify the story with a media article, please contact me via pm, and I’ll move it back into Media and re-open it.
Crikey Angus! Talk about a flying start! Great stuff.
Hard to explain away the human guinea pigs though. Did they drop out of the program for the 1/8th of his time given over to private work each week, and did the experimental meds stop working on them for the the other 7/8ths of his time? This whole Sovaldi business is turning into one of the biggest cans of worms in modern medical history, when it should have been one of the great breakthroughs. This is what happens when greed is allowed to flourish unfettered.
Had my eot bloods drawn on Tuesday, and got my results back today (attached).
LFs ever-so-slightly up from the last tests, but in the ‘normal’ range.
I’ve had a heavy cold since eot, which has now started clearing. My joint pain, which had eased over the last couple of months, has eased further with the lifting cold and is now not much more than a ‘tickle’. Hope it at the very least stays this way.
Welcome to the forum Sue.
Some people seem to go through the treatment with very little side effects. Others struggle a bit for a few weeks. And a few struggle most the way through. The good news is that level of side effects don’t seem to be an indicator for effectiveness of treatment. Your first treatment blood tests will tell you where you stand, and they will give you confidence.
Great news Jolie. I know it’s been a long, and at times frustrating road to get to here. Time will fly to your new-found health.
Congrats on getting the meds Dan. Did you have any joy with the stuck-in-the-muds at Manchester Royal wrt monitoring?
Maybe London Girl can add some info when she next comes online?
As G says, I put a link up on my forum.
All I could find on them at the time is in G’s link above. I asked if anyone knew anything about them, but the only response was from Monkmed themselves.
I also asked Greg Jefferys if he’d had any dealings with them. He replied that they’d been in touch with him but that he didn’t want to deal with them (but didn’t expand on that).
I’ve found another admin task for you Em: We need a thumbs-up smiley. Congrats mate.
And I should add that I’m a tall, well-built guy (95kg), so I’m technically at the ‘wrong’ end of the ‘one size fits all’ dose.
