    I can back up what Greedfighter says here. My fibroscan consistently came back as F0 but I was 60 years old and knew I was on borrowed time.
    I believe my treatment has given me an extra 10 years of healthy life

    Love your guts, Greedfighter. What you say is spot on.

    I’m in Australia, and the way the dice fell for me is that the Australian government did an enlightened thing and put HCV treatments on the Public Benefits System just about when I was seriously looking at generics (my specialist at the public hospital told me to wait a few month because she knew it was coming even though I didn’t believe her. Thanks Dr P.)

    If you have gone through the nightmare that is interferon/ribavirin and are feeling nervous, well while I refused those I can still tell you the DAA treatment I had (Harvoni) was a very very easy treatment and I started feeling better within days.

    I have my life back. That’s all I can say.

    Last night I saw one of my very favourite bands – Belle & Sebastian, and Indie outfit from Glasgow. This isn’t the version of Fox in the Snow that they played last night, but I still like it.

    Stuart Murdoch, the singer / pianist in this video is a huge fan of the Go-Betweens who you probably haven’t heard of if you’re not an Australian of a certain age. Robert Forster is one of the founders of this now defunct band which had quite a global cult following. He got on stage and he and Belle & Sebastian played a couple of Go-Betweens songs.

    Hi Sven. That song (and the album) came out in the mid 1980s if I remember rightly.
    I was working and studying, after deciding that investing some time and effort in my career was probably a good thing.

    My total cholesterol level jumped from low 4 to mid 6 within 6 months of clearing the virus, as my newly healthy liver set about making cholesterol with a vengeance. Dammit!
    But still, the feeling of well-being continues to increase. It’s good to know I’ve been given back some quality time so yeah, it’s worth actively monitoring all the other health indicators.

    Hey GF this is pretty much what is happening to me! Good to hear you are doing well.
    I have to admit to unexpected effects when I got the first SVR ,3 months post EOT. I never thought it was going to be such a Big Deal and so tough to process. But I’m good now (started treatment in March 2016).
    Physical health is hugely improved apart from cholesterol. (I suspect my sub optimal liver wasn’t making much of it, and when it got better it made up for lost time). Mental sharpness and learning ability have also improved out of sight.
    Keep on enjoying life!
