I have Genotype 4acd. I received Harvoni through fixhepC and Monk Med for 12 weeks. Genotype 4 responds very well. I am attaching a screen grab of a slide from Liver Meeting in 2016 that shows the cure rates for LVD/SOF from 3 studies: The Synergy, 95%, Ion-4, 100% and Study 1119, 93%.

I also have Gt 4ACD and was reassured during treatment by this video on Genotype 4. At the 29:21 mark in the video he mentions that Genotype 4 is very sensitive to DAA’s.

Here is something I saw on Twitter Sept 1st. An 83 yr old patient kept a treatment diary. I also had unexpected dizziness and asked a neighbor to check on me each day because I live alone. My dizziness passed in just a few days.

I also want to encourage you to keep a log or dairy of your treatment. You can record the time you take the medication each day and any new symptoms or physical and mental changes. I can’t tell you how many times I have referred back to my notes.

I was also Genotype 4ACD. I started 12 weeks of Harvoni on 8/12/16 and completed treatment on 11/3/16. I was 65 at the time and have discovered that some of the problems I still have are age related. The only new symptom I now experience is low to moderate tinnitus. It started about the third week of treatment after a few days of dizziness. It is a small price to pay for clearing HCV.

Best of luck. Get plenty of sleep and don’t forget to drink water.

Sometimes if I am busy my mind ignores the buzzing/ringing. However, if It is quiet or if I am trying to fall asleep it becomes quite loud and annoying. I have taken to listening to podcasts from a cellphone placed near my pillow. I am not getting enough sleep. If you learn anything from your doctor please post on this thread.
I have also searched the Internet about tinnitus and sofosbuvir and this has been a problem for others. My tinnitus started on my 20th day of treatment when I also experienced a stiff neck. The stiff neck went away the next day but the tinnitus has lasted over 9 months. I’ve learned on the tinnitus forum that many things can cause tinnitus so remedies will vary. Perhaps because our cause is the same then then our solution will be similar. Thanks

I completed 12 weeks of Harvoni in November 2016 and also have BAD ringing in my ears. I am taking Vitamin B-12 and Vitamin D. I found a tinnitus forum online https://www.tinnitustalk.com/
Some on the forum have tried alternative therapies. I ordered Jarrow Formulas N-A-C (N-Acetyl-L-Cysteine) and will be trying that also in about a week.

I have only 3 more days left of treatment. I lost most of the feeling in my right foot below the ankle about 6-7 years ago. The numbness is now 90-95% gone. It is still lingering around the ball of the foot.
I will amend this post if it disappears completely.
