Hi 808cruiser,
I know those figures can seem crazy high and worrying but like others my viral load was all over the place before treatment. Anywhere between 1 million and 5+ million and beyond. It doesn’t matter much where it is when you start treatment – the most important thing is that those little critters are undetectable at the end.
Good luck with your treatment.
Hi bobraas and welcome,
I had G1 but also had the virus for more than 3 decades. In those last few years the burden of carrying the virus became heavy and the cost to my mental and physical health very high. Like many people I found the cure and the support through FixHepC and even now my overall health continues to improve.
I’m looking forward to reading your posts. We’ll be with you.

Thanks for the great post EC2 and congratulations. I like your analogy between preparing for a marathon and taking action to treat HepC so that you become a participant not a spectator. Very inspiring…
You are such a consistent voice for HepC in NZ media (and therefore elsewhere) Hazel.
Good luck for your exams – you must be ready to celebrate the end of that marathon (and your liver won’t mind!).
2 October 2018 at 1:07 am in reply to: Greedfighter’s Generic Epclusa or Harvoni to USA Journal #28606Hi Greedfighter. Good to hear. It’s the cure that keeps on giving happiness.
That’s wonderful news Balance. Enjoy the awesomeness of Hep C freeness.
Congratulations kaju!! Enjoy your party
There’s nothing like these blood tests to induce a bit of anxiety. We’re waiting with you – good luck.
Hi Muddeey with a big warm welcome.
I’ve also been loitering here for nearly three years and I am a testament to the incredible humanity of Dr James and the FixhepC team, the power of this online community and the efficacy of the generic DAA treatments.
I’ve really enjoyed reading your posts and I’m happy that you are now on the path to living a life free of Hep C. I also had a lot of issues with fatigue and brain fog and I can assure you that these things do gradually clear once your body gets rid of the virus.
What wonderful friends you have – they obviously care very much about you. It will be a great day when you can tell them that you beat this.
Looking forward to reading your posts.

Hi Vedruss – it’s great to hear that things are going so well and they will keep on getting better.
Great article Dr J. I definitely had “cerebral metabolite alterations and structural or functional neuroimaging abnormalities” but I’m ok now
Thanks Hazel. An interesting article that is trying to call it as it is and bring buyer’s clubs into the mix as a mainstream option. It really highlights those extraordinary price differences despite some negotiating for lower cost DAAs.
Well we’ve been waiting with you Spiltdog. I know how much a relapse can undermine confidence but there has to be a time when it’s ok to celebrate.
I have found that the cure is a gift that keeps giving. Every six months or so I reflect on the incremental improvements. It doesn’t mean life doesn’t deliver crap sometimes but at least it’s not Hep related!

Congratulations Splitdog. It was tough fight but you won. I’m so so happy for you.

Congratulations mrcleanrt! I love your post. It is a wonderful combination of joy, accomplishment and gratitude.
It also reminded me of Gerry Rafferty and that great saxophone riff in Baker Street.

Hi Tanya,
I’m sorry that you’ve been struggling. Although it may feel like it you are not going crazy. Your body and the medication are fighting hard to get rid of a virus that you have been carrying for 20 years.
Everyone seems to have different symptoms and reactions to carrying the virus and treating it although there are some common themes. Anxiety, depression, brain fog and lack of energy are not uncommon. When I look back at myself before I started treatment I was a mess of brain fog and depression. Some people sail through treatment with little or no side effects and others experience a variety of physical and emotional reactions. The one thing that is shared is the relief and increased sense of well being in the weeks, months and years after we have been cured.
I’m really hoping that things settle down for you soon. In the meantime please be kind to yourself and try to balance good rest and some exercise as both are important.
We’re with you all the way.
