Joe is just a few days behind you in treatment…his starting VL was very similar to yours but I think his liver is a little more beat up….hope to meet you at UND in a few weeks! –MsJoe

5/31/16 VL 239The word “exponential” comes to mind when I see the sharp upturn at the and of the graph. I don’t think there is any stopping it now. The word is getting out. Thank you Dr. Freeman and Greg Jefferys for making it all happen. Thank you for coexisting peacefully, because it took both of you to make a believer out of a very skeptical me. – Jeff’s simple blog to make me say “Hey this guy really did this and he got well”, and to Dr. Freeman for educating and providing a way that we could have actually obtained the meds. (Happily, in our case, the Harvoni appeal was finally approved, but I’ll have to say a very tiny part of me wishes Joe was taking the generic just so I could be more believable when I spread the word, as I know he would have gotten well either way) Many others are going to jump in to try to get a piece of the pie now that you two have blazed a path….some will have motives very different than yours – there is lots of money to be made here, even at generic prices – but no matter what their motives are, at least more people will get well. Sadly, you will probably never get the worldwide recognition you deserve. — MsJoe ***edited to add – I just saw fritz mentioned the exponential upturn in the graph on another thread – stated much more eloquently than here…..It would be awesome if the word would spread as fast as the virus replicates!***

This is probably the most highly respected compounding training center in the USA. They have been invited to lecture at American colleges of pharmacy for decades…

5/31/16 VL 239Thanks to a HepC positive organ donor last year, he is no longer on dialysis and is now getting treatment. Things are looking up – if the hands get well too, life will really be good again. Time will tell. The same hands that go fishing should also be able to wash a few dishes!–MsJoe

5/31/16 VL 239It seems like there are lots of unknowns….the nih abstracts are over my head for the most part….I guess we will just have to wait to see if his condition improves after his treatment…..I’m just hoping his hands will get well enough to take fish off the hook again!

5/31/16 VL 239I was so excited to discover this disorder during our research trying to find a way to obtain the meds…..and will ask our doc about it at our next appointment…..Joe has had a finger amputation, a surgery to improve blood flow, and has been through hyperbarics twice and nobody has ever mentioned this disorder….they even revised his dialysis access thinking it was Steal Syndrome, but then it started on the other hand. It flares very suddenly, always in the cold months – it begins with a little blood blisters, and then the fingertip suddenly turns dark and just dies…. They have managed to save a couple of fingers with hyperbarics. They just keep saying it’s diabetes, but his A1C was 4.5 with no meds at the time….and you don’t just wake up one day and a finger that was perfectly normal the day before is now feeling like a car door just slammed shut on it….never made sense…this has been extremely debilitating for him for the last 2 years….life without useable fingers isn’t much fun…please God let this go away too…..

5/31/16 VL 239Sorry to drag up a relic……..but we are feeling very grateful this week – what’s the best way to pay it forward? My thoughts are that in the developed countries such as US, UK, Australia, it’s just a matter of spreading the word….people who don’t qualify through their insurance can find a way to afford the cure once they know their options. However, in the less developed countries, $2K might still be totally out of reach….any ideas on how to get help to those who need it without getting scammed? I see Greg Jefferys takes donations—MsJoe

5/31/16 VL 239Just found out the judge ruled in his favor! He will get the 24 weeks of Harvoni. I was hopeful because the judge asked so many questions during the telephone hearing….I read it on here somewhere, “appeal, appeal, appeal”. The doctor gave up after the second Medicare appeal,so I muddled through the third phase (Administrative Law Judge or ALJ phase here in the US) myself. I think it actually played in our favor NOT to get a lawyer as suggested for this phase. Joe phoned in his request for appeal as allowed, so someone actually had to hear his voice to transcribe it, and I spoke with Sylvia, the judge’s assistant a few times. She even called me back to let me know my “evidence” was received when I sent a page of the WHO Treatment Guidelines for review. It never hurts that someone knows there is a real person here needing help. The doc’s PA was awesome….I’ve had hell with the institution since Jan – Joe has just been “lost” in the system…..they can’t stand me at this point…..but she redeemed them all that day. Just got 2 week labs and are excited to be on the road to recovery..

5/31/16 VL 239Hi Gaj, No I just meant that lots of American senior citizens go to Mexico on buses to get blood pressure and other maintenance meds….not Harvoni or generics. Believe me, that’s the first place we checked. Joe speaks Spanish and we contacted some pharmacies….no such luck. Mexico is such a poor country too….I was surprised they didn’t qualify to have the generic. Who are these 90+ countries who have it? Have not been able to find an actual list….
Matt, congrats on getting the meds!

5/31/16 VL 239Yes, thank you, I agree. I have done lots of reading here over the last couple of days. There is a TON of good information here. Every success story I read makes me feel a little better….I know along the Mexican border, charter buses go to the bridges for day trips to let old people cross and get meds for their own use and the authorities don’t give them any problems….Hopefully this will be the same situation.

5/31/16 VL 239I emailed a Dr. Sue Rodgers, affiliated with a non-profit Soul of Healing in the US… then received a couple of calls a few minutes later – I think they were from India but I didn’t answer…and maybe it was a coincidence, but I was notified by Google that there were multiple attempts to log in to my email the next day.. I know I looked at Antiguameds and emailed other places that day too, but went back and deleted everything when I got the notice from Google. Dr, Sue is the only one I remember for sure because I tried to search for credentials on her. I had also contacted Dr. Freeman at that point, but by then I was uneasy with all of it…..have just been looking around for a week or so since then to try to get a feel for all of this….it is a lot to take in. Yes, we are hoping for a positive outcome on the appeal…I have so much I would like to say, but right now just want the drug in his hand…
