Hi, GP’s can write scripts for the medication, it’s just finding one in your area that will have the stones to do it, I live in rural South Australia, so I just booked an appointment with Dr James Freeman at Gp2u, and had the paperwork into the buyers club with the script the same day, took 3 weeks to get the medication.

Being Gen 3, you’ll wanna add daclatasvir to sofosbuvir, I was told I wouldn’t need ribavirin if my my fibroscan was below 13 and thankfully it wasn’t (10.2), I took my first pills yesterday, couple hours later I felt mildly euphoric, I don’t know if that was hope combined with excitement at the prospect of slaughtering my passenger. I ordered 24 weeks sof/dac to increase my chances of success as well, looking forward to getting an undetected measure when I get the blood work done in 4 weeks or maybe 2 ..I haven’t decided yet.

    Anyways good luck 2 you.

Ps I hear that there’s a sof/dac combo pill coming out in November in India I think, I got mine from Mesochem in China with a script for sof/dac powder. I’m sure I read as well that Mesochem actually supplies the generic makers in India with their sofosbuvir, but I’m not totally sure about that, it is tested over here and found to be 99% pure and the results from people who are treating with it are testament in itself.

I contracted hep C after injuries in a motor vehicle accident left me with a raging opiate addiction, that was 22 years ago, I haven’t told my family or friends …too embarrassed and ashamed I guess, I moved 500 km away from home and for the last 15 years I’ve lived a life of seclusion and misery, I don’t expect the government to pay for my mistakes, but please don’t stand in the way of me or many others being able to finally get an effective treatment at our own expense. I’d just about lost all hope until I found FixhepC. I’m grateful to the scientists who developed these amazing drugs but very scornful of the price tags that are being imposed.

    Thankyou

Hi, you may be best sending an email off to Greg Jeffrey’s, Google Greg Jeffrey’s help blog , you will see on his latest blog he mentions patients in Argentina being successful in getting the generic medication, if you email him he may be able to give you the best answer on how to go about it from your country or may be able to put you in touch with a fellow Argentinian who can explain how to go about it lawfully and with the minimum of cost.

I wouldn’t start panicking yet, I rang them up around the 14th and the phone was picked up quickly, I did however send my first email to them using a gmail account but it didn’t send for some reason something about ‘invalid domain name’ maybe I hit a wrong key? Anyways I just used my iSP email and no problems, they got back to me the same day or the next I can’t recall exactly.

Hi, I got an email saying that my funds had been received and I was in the next outgoing order, I think I read that it usually takes around 3 weeks for you to get the meds, give or take a week.

G’day to you Rowan, like you I have doubts about PBS listing of these drugs, but honestly, who wants to wait six months for a ‘maybe’ when good chances are in that time you could be cured and have all new problems to consider ..Like what toppings you want on your pizza.

Anyways I start my Tx soon as well so good luck to all of us eh!, and I don’t care about how this virus was contracted, nobody deserves to live with this hanging over their heads.

I don’t know about anyone else but if after taking 12 weeks of the new meds I get say an 8wk SVR and then relapse, I’d kick myself for having not opted for the 24 week Tx, I think you have to remember as well that those ‘recommended’ treatments are as much in the interests of the bean counters as the patients, personally I think the cost of these generics are a small price to pay if your going to improve your chances of clearing the virus with the extra 12 weeks, I think if price wasn’t an issue then those treatment regimes would probably be beefed up a bit more.

The thing I am curious about in Hamiltons tx is this.Normally with his profile he would have the option of 12wks sof led riba or 24wks sof led.
The first option would be the one he would normally be steered to because the discomfort he might experience on 12 wks el cheepo riba is considered less than the discomfort of someone parting out an extra $100,000 for him to go on a 24 wk sof led regime without the riba. The question I have is that after 12wks sof led riba,is there an advantage in continuing with another 12wks sof led on its own without the riba .If any kind of resistance has appeared would the extra 12wks of sof led on its own make any difference. However,in this case he is presumably paying for his own tx so costs don’t enter into the equation.I can’t find any answers to this in the literature available.Maybe there just isn’t the data out there at the moment to answer this question.Maybe we could invite Dr Freeman to venture an opinion, although etiquette may prevent him commenting on another medicos advice.

In SIRIUS, a double-blind placebo-controlled French study, patients with cirrhosis who did not respond to PEG-IFN and RBV plus telaprevir or boceprevir, were randomized to receive placebo for 12 weeks followed by ledipasvir/sofosbuvir plus RBV for 12 weeks or ledipasvir/sofosbuvir plus placebo for 24 weeks. The SVR rate was similar in each group, 74 of 77 (96%) in the group that received ledipasvir/sofosbuvir plus RBV for 12 weeks (3 patients with relapse) and 75 of 77 (97%) in the group that received ledipasvir/sofosbuvir for 24 weeks (2 patients with relapse). This observation was further supported by a meta-analysis of treatment-naive and -experienced patients with cirrhosis who were treated with ledipasvir/sofosbuvir in phase II and III studies (including the SIRIUS study). In this analysis, ledipasvir/sofosbuvir for 12 weeks was inferior to ledipasvir/sofosbuvir for 24 weeks and ledipasvir/sofosbuvir plus RBV for 12 weeks; no difference in SVR was detected between the latter 2 groups. Safety and tolerability were similar in each group, and with the exception of anemia, reported adverse events did not differ substantially between patients treated with or without RBV. (Bourliere, 2014a); (Bourliere, 2014b)

Ledipasvir/sofosbuvir has been evaluated in patients with and without cirrhosis in whom prior treatment with PEG-IFN and RBV, with or without HCV protease inhibitors (telaprevir or boceprevir), failed. In the ION-2 study, patients who had not responded to prior PEG-IFN and RBV were treated with ledipasvir/sofosbuvir. This regimen was given for 12 weeks or 24 weeks, with or without RBV. In the population without cirrhosis, the overall response rate was 98% (95% confidence interval [CI], 96%-99%). Specifically, in patients without cirrhosis who did not respond to PEG-IFN and RBV, 33 of 35 (94%) achieved an SVR after treatment with ledipasvir/sofosbuvir alone, and 38 of 38 (100%) patients achieved SVR after treatment with ledipasvir/sofosbuvir and RBV. (Afdhal, 2014b) This regimen was well tolerated in all groups, with no serious adverse events reported in the 12-week regimen with or without RBV.In the population with cirrhosis, patients treated for 24 weeks had higher SVR rates than those treated for 12 weeks, supporting the recommendation that HCV treatment–experienced patients with cirrhosis receive 24 weeks of treatment without RBV.

    ..hope this helps

the little bit of research I’ve done does states that if you have chronic HCV and your platelets are <140 then it's an 80% indicator that cirrhosis has occurred, but it's still just speculation in lieu of a biopsy or fibrosis scan.

Make no mistake, if the powers that be want it stopped, then it will stop. Government bureaucracy has the ability with the right over regulatory mechanisms already in place to jump right in and shut this down pronto. ..if they wanted to

So your right also …take action while you can.
