Hi Lynne
Welcome to the forum. Wow must have come as a shock to you. A great time to have hep c really (well you know what I mean). So glad you’re onto this early. I found out in 2007 and it floored me really. So happy to have you on board with your journey. Theres no studpid or embarrassing questions here as we are all learning about these amazing new drugs. Em
Hi LG and Jolie
No Im a light weight for a man at 75kg and 5.10 tall lol metric and imperial now that age categorises me. It makes sense i have a good friend who is 50 kg on the same dose as me. Does mot make sense in my opinion. I have moderate damage so thinking its related to this. I have experimented once and tolerated it well. Em
Probably my like $120k with 20+% oncosts. Sorry workforce dude lol. Em
Hi everyone
Well doing a little road trip now to have some testing. Only testing for RNA as VL/quantifiable should still be under testing range so no point. Heres hoping all the little RNA fragments are gone. Em
Edit: Smack on week 4 today.
Hi Tina
My experience was that it gets from China to Australia really quick 3 or 4 days once they receive funds. From that point they will hit customs to Hobart which is about a week and lets say testing and compounding will add another 3 or 4 days. So approximately 3 weeks from payment. With this in mind I would leave booking flights until you know that they have arrived in Tasmania and add have been forwarded on to testing/compounding. Another Kiwi hey and on behalf of the forum and buyers club, welcome Tina. The supplier will add documents into the packaging, ie authenticity etc but just insure that your script or a copy is forwarded to supplier to be placed in the packaging. This is probably happening now anyway but wasn’t when I ordered in early Sept. Em
Hey JB and forgot to say congratulations on your 3 week result. Mine was still detectable under 15 but not far off. Em
Hi JB, We’re creating a research category when we get 5, are you happy for me to move this thread into it once I do this? Cheers Em
Hi James
Responded to the media team. Em
Hi James
I’m your man and happy to assist with this media initiative or anything that’s going to help the cause. Happy to be named etc and talk about my journey and involvement with FixHepC. Em
Great news Sir, you’ll do well on these my friend. Sides are very doable and in fact you will soon have periods of feeling better than you have in a while. Em
Thanks again everyone for the well wishes! Joy given that you are tx naive, low VL, and minimal scarring I think the odds are good for you to rvr or at least UND at 4. I have a reasonable amount of damage and tx experience which would impact on my result. I now wonder if I would have been undetectable at 21-28 days rather than day 20 lol. I will now want to test on Monday week 4 (28 days) just to confirm things. I think I have to pay for the next one given I’ve used my baseline and week 4 essentially.
Just to those who do end up with early results similar to mine ‘detectable under 15’, these are virus particles which have yet eliminated due to the half life situation, but in essence or on their way to being gone.
Paul we are not far apart in tx it would be great if you could start a thread in patient journey so people can follow your journey also, are you Paul Jarman muso? Em
Cheers everyone, well week 3 result so it should be gone at 4. Thanks everyone. Em
Hi Everyone
My day 20 results came in today still detectable under 15, normal liver function for ALT, AST and GGT. A bit disappointing but hey given the half life of our bodies to eliminate fragments, I feel confident that at this present time day 24 that I’d be undetectable, but obviously can’t be certain. Wishing now I should not have gone early with my test and left it till next Monday (week 4) but pretty decent result anyway. I will pay for a 3rd test next week for my own peace of mind and confident all the particles will have been eliminated. Good news but not phenomenal lol. Em
Hi Alsdad
I was thinking about movimg the tx options and discussion from hamiltons posts. So cutting where we took over and moving intp drug interaction/tx. And of course the presentation can go into the media categgory. Sorry mate really busy with work atm so skimming over things a bit feom my end. EmI guess the other issue in this discussion is that many of us look at this new DAA tx/concept from previous tx experiences and older knowledge. I think it would be true to say that if you clear in 4 UND the chances of this virus returning is less than the 5% data presented in all the trials data and this really flows well with previous regimes and knowledge. However, as Dr Freeman pointed out in previous posts (linked to the research) people who have not cleared until the final week (12) of tx but go onto SVR post 12 weeks. What I do know is that once these DAAs do there job there is little chance of the virus rebounding. I’d like to see some detailed data on percentage of failures based on non-response vs relapse. Also I’d like to see data on percentages based on genotype, I haven’t seen too much of this based on the collective research. Em
