Thanks for the well wishes Tina and Hazel.
Standard procedure here is to prescribe acetaminophen plus a narcotic pain killer. For me they just prescribed a low dose opiate pain killer with no acetaminophen. I don’t like opiate pain killers at all (constipation, loss of appetite, poor sleep), but they do a good job for surgical pain. I don’t sleep much on them, so will catch up on TV, and forum news.
CBC and Metabolic panel labs from Teus. are back. Surprising improvement in a number of areas including Glucose. Still waiting for 4 week viral load assay. Fingers crossed.

MOHS went OK. Really well, actually. Took three passes, and left a dime sized oval hole which the surgeon patched up right there.
So glad I made that appointment with my Dermatologist and didn’t wait. The MOHS surgeon is just an incredible guy. We chatted while he worked. I’ll go back in three months for dermabrasion to blend out the scar.
The surgeon’s nurse (who was great!) did the sutures and asked me about being treated for Hep C. She and the surgeon had assumed I had the $94,000 treatment. I said no, my insurance company had denied the claim. You could have heard a pin drop. The nurse (name withheld) asked me how I had gotten treatment. I told her my story. I told her about generics, about the cost, and about the REDEMPTION Trials. We chatted while she put in the stitches.
Before I left, she had me write down Dr Freeman’s name, along with the website address, and the name of the trials.
So, here I am looking like Papa Smurf after a bar fight.
My sincere thanks to my outstanding surgeon, and to his wonderful nurses and staff.
Christ almighty. Bill Gates dispenses the Kool-Aide, and without questioning the veracity or examining the intention of his statements, people just take the bait and run with it.
Sorry, Vororo – but he just got you too. There is no ‘American’ or ‘US Pricing system’. There are only soulless global corporate hegemonosts like Microsoft and Gilead, and a thousand others who use the laws of virtually every country in the world to twist and subvert the intention of international patent, trademark and copyright laws to do what they were never intended to do. Namely to provide carte blanche to ravenous global corporate raiders, who treat the public trust and interest like a hostile takeover target as they gut, vivisect, and feast upon it until there is nothing left on the bones.
The principles which allow them to do this are global, and are encoded in the Berne Convention: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Berne_Convention They apply to your country no less than they do to mine.
There is a very dark side to Globalism, and corporate hegemonists like Gates, Soros and Zuckerberg are its poster boys. Jobs was as well, but he was always exactly who he was, and never pretended to be anything or anyone else.
Good points all on Open Office (love it), and the fake philanthropists, and fake philanthropy of world.
I said I wasn’t going to post for a while, and now I’ve gone and done it anyway. I yield the floor.
Great news Simone. Please keep us up to date!
Thank you for the very concise and very accurate description, Dr James. As usual, you have managed to outline the procedure in a few efficient and well written sentences.
Blueberries:
Brain farts are back, although fewer and farther between, as are the emotional ups and downs, although less intense.
Yesterday as my wife and I were grocery shopping, and I was putting packages of blueberries in the shopping cart, a woman came up to the island where the blueberries were, and began opening the packages and pawing through the blueberries with her fingers. Normally I would say nothing – but I snapped at her “Don’t paw through those blueberries, they’ll get mold on them!” True, but not in character at all for me. I have decided not to post for a couple of days. I need to get some work done (actually had a dream about it), and need to let the feelings, and peevishness resolve a bit. Last night I made sure to wash the blueberries extra thoroughly!
Facebook isn’t for everyone. Opened an account to participate in a FB Hep C support group. Too much hostage taking and bullshit politics there for me. Deleted the account today and won’t look back.
Labs and MOHS surgery this week. Will update when results are available.
