Congratulations Dan! :woohoo: That surely deserves a little dance.

I remember when you first started your Tx a bit before Xmas so it is wonderful to hear your news of success having followed your journey for so long. :+1: :cheer:

As far as I know Daclatasvir is not on the PBS for genotypes 2, 4, 5 or 6.

When I last looked, gt2 for example gets Sof/RIBA and the others get Sof/riba/peg.

:( I’d be happy to be corrected on this.

I also used Mesochem Sofosbuvir and Daclatasvir sourced from the buyers club last year but only completed treatment 4 weeks ago so my SVR is still pending though others have reached that status. You will need a prescription to get it through customs.

If you could provide a few more details about you genotype, fibrosis level, etc that would assist others with any comments.

    Hi Barry,

Pantoprazole can be a problem with Harvoni because it reduces stomach acidity and the Ledipasvir in Harvoni requires good stomach acidity to be fully absorbed. The Sofosbuvir and Daclatasvir you are taking don’t require stomach acidity for absorption so the pantoprazole won’t reduce their effectiveness.

But perhaps you are wondering about whether you need to keep taking it based on the comments from Ken and Mike about improvements in their stomach condition during treatment?

Tunnelbear was just recommended to me.

    Sonix,

Apart from reasons such as avoiding geoblocking, from a personal security perspective everyone who uses public Wi-fi networks in hotels and cafes when they are out and about should be using a VPN service to encrypt and protect their data while doing so. Otherwise the owners of those networks have visibility of and can intercept anything you do over their network including any passwords you use.

Tunnelbear is an effective VPN service with a very simple user interface that I have recommended to inexperienced friends and family to improve their phone, tablet and laptop security. As you say, they give you 500mb per month free and if you tweet about using them on Twitter they will increase that to 1.5gb per month. Their rates for unlimited use are also quite reasonable if you don’t want to get involved in the complexities of some of the other services.

(I wonder if they’ll give me some free data for that little blurb?   )

A quick summary of the actual patient studies in those abstracts is that for those who previously had clinically proven Cryoglobulinema and achieved SVR:

40/75 (56%) had all symptoms disappear and no clinical evidence remaining.
31/75 or (38%) had many/most symptoms disappear and very little/no clinical evidence.
4/75 or (6%) still had symptoms and tested positive for clinical evidence but were “improved compared to initial symptoms.”

Which suggests that after Joe reaches SVR he has an excellent chance of improving to where he will be able to remove the fish hooks himself…..which is very important for us anglers.

This long term study seems to indicate that SVR is a good predictor of resolution of cryoglobulinemia.

In our study, the majority of patients with MCS who reached SVR also experienced a complete and persistent clinical-immunological response according to the study criteria. All symptoms and laboratory alterations (i.e., cryocrit, rheumatoid factor, C4 consumption) disappeared in most of the MCS-SVR patients; the remaining MCS patients had only isolated symptoms (i.e., sicca syndrome, peripheral paresthesia, arthralgia) and/or laboratory data altered, although improved compared to baseline. Only two MCS-SVR patients (3%) maintained a definite syndrome according to the established criteria,[23] although all the clinical manifestations improved compared to initial symptoms.
