For what it’s worth Dr Reddys is not a licensed manufacturer of Sofosbuvir or Sof/Led. From the one label I could read on the net they are a distributor and the manufacturer is Hetero. But very little information out there so how correct that detail is remains to be seen. That price seems far too low even allowing for the competitive marketplace in India.

A thoughtful and well expressed summation that I agree with. The only other comment I would make is that while the decision process was also very easy for me, we need to be mindful that for some it may take longer. However as you say this forum can and does provide information, support and encouragement as people work through that process to arrive at what is their decision.

While the risk is far lower in most modern first world countries, IMHO anyone with Hep C should still make considered, educated decisions regarding vaccinating for Hep A and B, and also Flu, in consultation with a suitably qualified medical professional. I would not include those wanting to sell you natural remedies in that decision process unless advised to by the medical professional you are consulting.

Maybe do a change if it makes you feel more comfortable, but you got an undetected 3 weeks ago so you’ll be fine!
As I said above, most people clear without all this carry on but those of us who have failed in the past just want that little bit of extra reassurance this time round so we do these little extra bits that there is no scientific evidence for, a bit like throwing spilt salt over your shoulder.

There are many doctors, both GP and specialist in Austalia who now support use of these generic medications although some are opposed and others just don’t know enough to be comfortable but we should be able to provide some guidance.
Perhaps if you could tell us a bit more about your situation, we could provide further advice. You don’t need to give any detail that will identify you but the more you can tell us the better ideas we may be able to provide.
When you say “my doctor” do you mean your specialist/GP? And is this a family/private specialist/GP type clinic that provides all your medical support or a bulk billing or hep clinic type place that you just go to when sic? Has this doctor been treating you for your hep c? Are they opposed to you taking this treatment or just not comfortable with supporting you through it?
What part of Australia are you in, and is it a major city or a rural area?just noticed the title says “hep dr” and yes there are still a few who are not supportive but the questions remain much the same. It would help if you can tell us a bit about your hep too. Genotype? How long? Fibrosis? Etc.

Hi darbara,
I tried an electric for a while but found I couldn’t get the hang of it and preferred a manual type. My understanding of electrics is that they are less likely to cut you? If so then you are probably fine. Remember all of this is only a very slight risk and only if you do cut yourself and many people go through treatment successfully without doing any of this stuff anyway.
But if you are still concerned then I believe the electrics all have removable blades for cleaning and/or replacement. Maybe you could put just the blade bits in bleach for ten minutes or replace with new ones but only if you do cut yourself or when you reach UND?

As we have a large bottle of bleach in the bathroom for cleanups after my clumsy and/or DIY accidents, it only takes me a couple of seconds to splash some into a glass, add some water and the razor and brush for ten minutes each morning before rinsing with water. I then reuse for toothbrush in evening before throwing out. Same reasons as Mike and gives me peace of mind that I am doing everything I can to increase my chances.
I will reduce that to probably fortnightly once I get an undetected result.

Greg’s post seems more than interesting, it sounds like excellent advice to me.
However, I wonder whether it and many of the other posts in this now very long thread relating to sellers of various different generic products are really appropriate to what is supposed to be a thread about the manufacturer Hetero? Unless someone disagrees may I suggest that it may be more appropriate to take this discussion to it’s own thread that is not a pinned part of the Pharma’s Market. If so, maybe one of our long suffering moderators could split the thread and move it at the point where it diverged from a discussion about Hetero if everyone agrees and we all ask nicely?

So don’t take too much and don’t have within a few hours of Dac. Or eat a nice bit of Tassie Salmon instead…….omega 3, B12, D3, protein and many other essentials in a yummy meal.
