A.L. I’ll say it again, The woman in the BBC video deserves to be kicked in the mouth. Talking about the value of this treatment that is produced for $100 and marketed for $94K. And that is the price to the individual; I was quoted that from Gilead. It’s less if you are F4 and you insurance rushes in to save you from certain death.

So many people are still uncertain of generics and the legality. So they wait, and as we know this disease can progress rapidly and cause death quickly, before an approval can be generated. People have to prove they are sick enough, it can take many months. But in a few months, someone can go from F0 to F4, it happens.

So many corporate people are just selfish scum.

I wish I could kick them all in the mouth.

This woman speaks from a position of power.

Gilead has the patent. Pay 95K or die. A position of strength and arrogance. “Let’s talk about value”, does not mean much if no one values me enough to pay for my life saving treatment.

Sounds kind of like “let them eat cake”

Lots of rich people got separated from their heads shortly after that comment.

My parents are from Wales (in the UK). I was born in Canada. I revised my comment because she can’t be corrupt, since she represents a pharma trade organization. I initially thought she was a government official. I’m British by heritage, and have no animosity towards Americans.

She defends Gilead’s pricing model, which is indefensible. If I could get away with it and not go to jail, I would kick her in the teeth. I hate people who are a piece of shit, they use valuable food and water.

There are people in this world who have no food and water. This woman is a waste of resources.

    rohcvfighter, well done!

I applaud your effort to help your countrymen. I bet you helped some people to eventually get cured. That’s one hell of an achievement, to save someone’s life

AL, I revised my comments as the woman is not a government official. She is a corporate shill. I guarantee her next job will be a senior position at a pharma company, reward for a job well done.

She’s not corrupt only because she plays for the greed team. I can’t call her a tiger if the team uniform is orange and black stripes.

She’s not corrupt; she is a piece of shit.

If you listen to her, I can’t help but want to kick her in the mouth, however she is not corrupt, since she represents the pharma manufacturers, who are delighted by high prices at the expense of human life. Yay team!

    rohcvfighter, I agree with you.
I too think Gilead may somehow be supporting this woman. And if not, then she is a fool, as she is doing their dirty work for free. She is either evil or a fool.

But she may also be a nut job, she has two forums it seems, (Hepatitis C Forum of Hope, also I think) and perhaps at 78 has nothing better to do than mislead people. And she may not even realize she is misleading people.

The whole affair is sad, What can we do? I say that Mike has the affordable medications site, and Dr. Freeman has been plastered all over the web in the last few months. Anyone who is desperate will find this site. The others will be consumed in the venus flytrap this woman has created for them. That’s life. It’s impossible to notify everyone, they have to be actively seeking the cure.

    Wow Mike, a graphic artist?

She is obviously a sicko. Just wants to keep her little site going. I think she also has another site there, the moderator is Bette Belle, who says ‘Hugs’ all the time too. It’s just sad, as I said that these people don’t look for generics. Not desperate enough I guess. Your site is right there! Delphi wants a new email account for each ID you create. It’s just too much effort for me.

I can’t even view her site while logged in over there. I have been banned :woohoo:

IMO, she is being compensated by Gilead, or maybe even works for Gilead.

Mike started the Affordable Medication chat room over there. What is wrong with the patients there that don’t search for HCV forums on Delphi and find it? And honestly, a google search about generic meds will yield info about Dr. Freeman and Fix Hep C pretty easily. I feel sorry for these people but honestly, they are not trying very hard.

    Hi Fitz,

I have posted countless messages on many forums. I don’t have time to do it continuously, I’m job searching right now. I do applaud you and others for your efforts!

Gaj, that is really what I meant. Unsanitary surgical procedures is included in my comment. It is a disease acquired though intimate encounters. How else can such a large third world population be explained. Sorry for not being more specific.

Overall, what I meant is in the first world, MOST people acquired this disease through drug use. I believe most third world patients acquired this thought unsanitary medical procedures or sex.

Let’s all just say it and admit it.

America is fucked up. 99.8% of the people are great, will help their neighbors and care for them.

But we are governed and dominated by the .2% who fuck it all up. They want to abuse us. They live like kings.

You see it everywhere; most people are barely existing. Meanwhile, someone else buys an existing house and levels it and builds a stone palace worth millions. Sadly, America has become a place of every man for himself.

Buy your own medication, or wait for the rich man to declare you sick enough for treatment, so he can keep living like a king.

Gilead (and the other HepC manufacturers. None of these meds are cheap) are playing chicken with insurers and health systems.

They keep the price high; it guarantees a steady stream of new ill patients. They make big money.

So far, it is cheaper for the payor to wait until advanced illness onset. Yes, it seems in Australia and everywhere except a few countries, that the money is more important than people. Although in Australia, you have access to generics. But the government is censoring the advertising of these meds. I don’t get this, Australia seems to have a confused government.

In Australia, can the pharma companies make donations to political candidates? If so, there is your answer. And of course, most Hep C sufferers (me included) got this through reckless behaviors. Politically, we don’t matter

In first world countries, we are dogshit to the politicians. Drug addicts; wastes of life. Why should society help us?

Third world people get this disease from unsanitary conditions. That’s why there is more sympathy for them.

Take the bone they are throwing you! They are allowing you to buy your own treatment!

Or wait until you qualify for treatment  <img style=ick:' /> :-1: :(

Because all the politicians in the first world are bought and paid for. They receive huge campaign money from these companies.

For some strange reason, pharmaceuticals don’t get any scrutiny. Gilead had to pay $11 billion for the patents to Sovaldi and Harvoni. So, I do agree that they need to be able to recoup that investment. But 12 weeks of treatment for $35,000 is what Pharmasset (the company Gilead bought) was going to charge. And that seems reasonable. But $94,000? <img style=ick:' /> :-1:
