Been thinking of you Paul. While it is not the end of the road like it used to be, would have been nice not to have to go another leg on the treatment journey. At least the seats are more comfortable these days on the bus. and your liver has had a good holiday.

I am sure I don’t speak for the majority but actually I don’t want our government to do a deal with Gilead. I want them to say ‘we will do business with an ethical provider”. The whole world needs to do that. At best NZ Pharmac will only negotiate a deal that still only does say F4 (which would have included me, anytime in the past 17 years), unless it can get an uncapped deal like Australia, but we are too small to front up with a nice tempting billion. So we are still left with tens of thousands of people who could improve their lives dramatically who won’t be in the queue. At this point I would prefer NZ health system to monitor us in the hospitals so we don’t have to go private, have some trials going for free access, prescribe, and lets crowd fund for those who can’t afford generics. Because otherwise, health system is spending whatever big dollars, (to a company whose conduct is unacceptable to me) for the meds when as private citizens we can get so much cheaper.

Similarly early in treatment I was eating way too many raspberries-big season just going on and on- I was also on riba at the raspberry stage but I felt so ill, I blamed it all on the meds. But I had the impression at the time, I wasn’t just flushing red in face but an unnatural sort of purple! A relative just sent me a photo and it is clear- I was turning into a raspberry right when I was weakest. I suppose the moral would be nothing in excess, but I’m tempted to say add raspberries to the fruits to reduce or avoid.

I mean it. We need leadership to peacefully protect ourselves and the planet in this ‘trade agreement’ era. This extremely inspiring model has provided that and had a powerful global impact, I intend to keep looking for other ways to apply the principles, and am doing law school to learn the rules.

Great cover too. Delivering hope. That opening statement: “it would take a brave doctor to do it”….. not just a brave doctor but a good doctor. We are beyond lucky to have that- but if I was a doctor, I would look in the mirror and say, what am I? I hope this article encourages a few (or a lot) to ask themselves that.

Brilliant, quality mainstream coverage, great job Sean, the glaring moral bankruptcy of the pharma apologist just really highlighted the issue. Anyone in the UK who needs to know this site will find it from there.

    Hi,
I’m geno 3 F4, I just got my VL back after 12 weeks tx- is under 15 but still detected- I have 24 weeks to take altogether and can see how important that is for those of us in this category.
