isaing4@gmail.comI hesitated at first pill, fear of the unknown. But I wanted so much to be healthy again. I wanted so much less harsh treatment than interferon.
I refused Interferon 5 years ago when there was no alternative. Now I’m glad I did. Who does not risk anything will not win anything!
PS
Very true what you say so beautifully in this poem, Dr. James.

isaing4@gmail.comI’m happy for all people with hepatitis C who live in a country as big as a continent, Australia.
And I think they rushed because of the work of special people like dr. James Freeman and Greg Jefferys.
I hope that the example of Australia will be taken over by other countries.
Success in getting treatment to all, in the coming year!

isaing4@gmail.comALT and AST values close to both of us. The same upper limit to ALT.
It’s hard to wait so long! But at least we have good results at LFT.
I believe that we will succeed!

ALT/AST ratio does have a meaning during treatment?
Does anyone know?

isaing4@gmail.comThank you, Dan!
Urea and Creatinine – done and are OK
The electrolytes, the various salts in the bloodstream… things like sodium, potassium, chloride and bicarbonate.- never done, as I remember.
But I shall test at 4 weeks!
And 52 weeks? Why? As I understand the treatment is either 12 weeks or 24 weeks.
I don’t understand.

isaing4@gmail.com”Now the patient has access to the medications here is what monitoring on treatment looks like:
1. Baseline FBC, Cr&E, LFTs, Hep C Viral Load with reasonable currency + AFP and liver ultrasound for those with cirrhosis (looking for HCC)
2. 4/52 into treatment FBC, Cr&E, LFTs, Hep C Viral Load
3. Repeat Viral Load at 4/52 intervals if not zero at 4/52
4.EOT (End Of Treatment) exit bloods ”FBC Full Blood Count and LFT Liver Function Test
What means 4/52 ? and Cr&E ?
Thanks

Waiting VL. Only after Christmas, I guess.
Thank you for sharing your personal experience. Thank you for very well documented responses/discussions. That’s why I am on treatment for hep C and have hope that I will get rid of the virus.
Merry Christmas to everybody!
