Velpatasvir is the new pangenotypic addition Gliead’s arsenal. It is due for approval under FDA priority review. Mesochem have it under R&D. I’m hoping it will be available from China this year. It will be added to Sofosbuvir in a single pill.

    Agreed.

Unfortunately we signed the TPP which supports big Pharma and big profits. It’s the big gravy train of overpaid fat cats.

Unfortunately this is the way we develop drugs and I have to admit that without it we don’t get the research done.

It is ridiculous but it takes an average of fifteen years and three billion dollars to get a drug to market.

    Exactly James.
I am dismayed at the the Hepatitis Council’s blatant acceptance of this announcement as watershed.

It shows that the leopard has not changed it’s spots. Something I thought we might have been able to achieve.

If, in fact, normal GPs like yourself (sorry, you are not really normal at all), will be able to write scripts, then the system will be overloaded. No way are Gilead going to pay for tens of thousands of cures over and above 6,600 per year.

I suggest you purchase a fibroscanner because that is going to be where the triage starts. It will take forever to get one done.

By the way, I have just finished my SofDac course. I had the shakes by the end of it but after three days they are nearly gone. Doing my SVR4 check in late January.

    Thanks again.

It’s a farce when all is said and done.

    It’s a farce actually.

One billion will treat everyone…… If the price of the pills comes down to $4500

    Joke.

France got it for $50k. If did a little better we can now treat…….. Not 230k but 30k and that’s over five years.

Who are they trying to kid?

Access for all is just BULLSHIT.

I know two people who got it on prescription from their chemists. They had to order it in.

They were written a script for Int/Rib but they did not fill that part of the script and took sofosbuvir from India instead,

The reason I mentioned SOF Dac sim and not the other combos in that small trial was that SOF Dac sim did not have any slow responders. 6/6 was the original number. Ledipasvir combo had 6/12 pull out early and the other one had 2/8 pullout. That was how the 18 was made up. It seems clear Dac is superior to Ledipasvir In log kill and this imight be important in a three way short course.

Simeprevir is available on the PBS and I wonder of there is any caveat on just getting the script filled.

    $37

There is a late breaker from the AASLD conference. It shows that SOF Dac and Simeprevir are the ultimate weapons. Very soon it will be apparent that three way combos of drugs already available will do the job in as little as one month.

It’s late breaker number 23 if you want to read the full story.

A third weapon is the answer to replacing Ribavirin not prolonging the course to six months,

They cured some easy to treat patients in THREE weeks. Surely we should be looking at adding Simeprevir instead doubling the time frame of treatment.

Legislation allows for personal importation and the buyers club started what you and no one else would or could do; provide a pathway to cure. Please do not attempt to interfere with this process. It is successful and legal.

I am six weeks into a twelve week course and am now virus free. I feel much better and my liver now works normally. Please do not create barriers for people like me. I can look forward to my new days and have now started to do part time work again.

Please leave us to our cures and concentrate on getting the rest of the people cured. Please hurry, many are already dead.

Can’t see the logic in using two NS5a inhibitors. Dac is the stronger of the two.

I’ve had plenty of soreness and some strange brain farts .

Other times I am spot on…. Better than ever.

Once I get through this I will be a new person. I am convinced of that.

    Way to go……..

I’m the same….. Food food food

    Feeling pretty good.

Strangely the meds seem to be quite strong in the last couple of hours before the next one is due. They used to spin me a little in the first few hours but now it’s a little like being stoned for the first two hours or so.
