Hey Thurl, Pleased it worked for you, I can only pass on the advise I was given by a UK liver specialist & London GP which worked for me with GP and Hospital. No, not everyone has been so successful regarding NHS monitoring, my London Hospital said a very clear ‘No’ but thankfully a few more uk hospitals are slowly coming round to the idea and I changed my hospital (but had to travel). Maybe better to lower risk of rejection though until the day comes that it’s the ‘norm’ ? Many GPs don’t know the ins & outs of the new DDAs but they know the names Cipla & Mylan. It’s easy to forget the stress organising these things once everything’s in place, you know? Yes, a post-code lottery and also I feel, down to the individual consultant and their ermm ‘responsibilities’ – Glad it worked for you.
(edit) Have added the word ‘most’ to my post to reflect your experience

Thank-you Tim, Dr Debasis @ MonkMed & Dr Freeman @ Fix HepCThank-you Gaj & CC2B – I’m not too worried about the nxt 12 weeks, it’s more about the following 12 weeks which will take me to nxt autmn (or fall as they say in the US) , It means my summer holiday will still be a ‘worrier’ Still, I’m so grateful to MonkMed & FixHepC and thankful that treatment wasn’t dictated by the NHS who probably would’ve offered me only 8 weeks hmy:
Today I can report that after after the switch-over to Sofo/DAC I immediately feel much better the next morning. Some may say it’s probably an emotional response, but I have had (without going into detail for those having breakfast) a digestive response this morning and feel , well …. much better!! I know It’s early days for this new medicine, but already my intuition tells me that it’s better for me personally, the lovely dt said that it helped ‘digestive issues’ too, interesting.
Gaj, love the word ‘holdouts’ you use for those last few stubborn virus’ Working hard here to banish those little blighters forever .
On top of that, the sun is shining here today

Thank-you Tim, Dr Debasis @ MonkMed & Dr Freeman @ Fix HepCThe only problem with Twinvir in the UK is that most GPs & NHS like to know you’re getting licensed meds from a manufacturer they know should you want monitoring on the NHS. I know so many people have done so well on this medicine and a good reliable service too, but private monitoring here is extortionate in price, so if UK patients can’t do it all privately, Cipla or Mylan (the former I know has a plant in Kent UK, think poss. Mylan too) – are seen as a the ‘more sensible option’ (my GPs words) .This may not be the case with all Drs but it is a struggle to get NHS monitoring here on generic medicines, unfortunately.

I have been thinking of you, when do you start your new meds? Us ‘old timers’ can keep each other company
Your liver will have had a good rest as the MultiLiverScan shows the new meds seem to reverse liver damage (I was 8.7 in 2014). forward we go to get those pesky stubborn little monsters. I may well be < the 10 needed to multiply, but I'm going to keep blasting them with the medicine as you will too, they will not be expecting that, so keep the faith, we're supporting you mate. Thank-you too Pat - You must have been posting same time as me, I think MultiLiverScan are reaching out internationally, it may be worth emailing them to see if they are running any trials or their new diagnotic is in use elsewhere? They're a great bunch of people & highly respected Drs. These scans can diagnose other liver problems as well and can be a fantastic preventative diagnostic tool too, helping to catch things early and showing good patches of liver so giving Drs more options for treatment and patients more hope.

Thank-you Tim, Dr Debasis @ MonkMed & Dr Freeman @ Fix HepCJust got VL back <12 - 'detected but unable to quantify'
So in that 'grey area' that quite a few have been before - This has given me the momentum to swallow my Sofo/DAC with gusto. Hope it gets those last few stubborn stragglers. Feeling more confident now.
Meanwhile, attached a nice colour image on my insides taken with the amazing LiverMultiScan (don't say I don't share everything with you guys )
It's a comp all all four images and gives me a reading of 1.5 which apparently, is not bad at all and pretty good for someone with HepC.
Onwards and BIG to all.
ps My psychedelic insides : Green is good, red is bad (only within the liver). I was told those yellow squggles were ‘vessels’. This was taken ‘as if chopping across’ – So the red / blue band at the bottom would be my front I think. It shows us just big and important the liver is!
More here : http://perspectum-diagnostics.com/products/livermultiscan/ These guys are doing innovative & amazing work. If you are in the UK, you can contact them if you would like to request being part of the ongoing trial. You also get a fibroscan to compare. Dr Banerjee is the inventor & is a warm , friendly personality who doesn’t patronise and is doing great work for us. He is in a video here : http://perspectum-diagnostics.com and you can apply if you wish here: http://perspectum-diagnostics.com/latestnews/
This could do away with the need for many biopsies.(Edit) Have added 2 more images, hopefully more explanatory?

Thank-you Tim, Dr Debasis @ MonkMed & Dr Freeman @ Fix HepCHi Pat,
I think we all feel fatigue nearing EOT and I can understand more after we’ve stopped the meds. I am also experiencing ‘liver twinges’ (Took my last Sofo/Led yesterday & extending with Sofo/DAC starting today). There does seem, from what I’ve read anyway, to be a slight ‘withdrawal’ from the meds that improves after a few weeks. This can be mentally as well as physically. I’ll probably be positively snail-like in June! These are strong medicines, it would be strange if we didn’t get some adjustments going on treatment and coming off?
Glad you’re sleeping better, I think a few of us know that 4am wake up, I also had a spell of 5.20 am precisely ! Thinking of you for your SVR4 and sending my very best wishes to you from afar
ps I have also put on weight, but it was very necessary for me, could still do with a bit more if there’s any going

Thank-you Tim, Dr Debasis @ MonkMed & Dr Freeman @ Fix HepCHere in the UK, I have sometimes had FBs without platelets. Usually when the test is from the GP rather than the hospital. GP doesn’t do AST either unless consultant specifically requests it.
