    Have you checked your VitB12?
Apparently lack of, can cause nervous system disorders, as can the virus.
You know I also have ‘buzzing phone syndrome’ along with muscle wasting, My recent bloods show a possible lack of VitB12 and / or Folic Acid, I eat tons of leafy green veg, but according to what I have read, they may not be absorbing correctly.

Get those organic greens down you ;-)

It may help, you never know and can’t do any harm.

    I hear ya GAJ,

I decided to wait, mainly due to monitoring issues here in the UK & life responsibilities. In a different senario I may well have taken your path, after all, it is ultimately our own responsibility to make an informed choice and take control of our health where possible. We do what we have to do.

However, waiting for NHS support (still waiting for consultant re-referral as I type) and the release of better-known generic meds for that reason, was important to me, didn’t want to ‘go it alone’.

The fact it may help others in a small way is definitely a bonus though :)

Hi Dabara, I thought I may have high BP, oddly, as it has been low if anything over recent years but I took my own BP at the GP office, not sure if I did it right & I had just walked up a hill, but it was high. Ex consultant also noticed a tachycardia, so just trying to check-out this stuff in general.

Now, each time I visit the nurse or GP I am asking them to take it to try to get a general picture. So far, one nice & low and another yesterday, the nurse said it was ‘ok’ but wouldn’t tell me what it was (secretive style nurse!)

Also had an ECG yesterday, Nurse wouldn’t tell me results, will need to ring GP.

So happy my GP is being so supportive.

Suggest on every visit you have to any medic, ask them to take yours, doesn’t take long and so far, when I’ve asked, they do it with a smile.

Great to hear you’re on the way now LG! and on the trial (me too heh)

Thank-you Zhuk :) My very best wishes to you

I’ve been given so much just by having the opportunity to access tx, feel its only right to be able to help if possible.

Absolutely , especially to the new-comers diagnosed recently, there is so much to learn, as I have been over the past 18 months, the stress has been terrible, especially pre the good people like MonkMed, Dr F & Gregg J. I was looking at the old triple with Telap / BOC (shudder) & possibly loss of job & home,

If I can be of any help in any small way I will, but collectively, we may be able to help ‘move mountains’ :)

    I agree GAJ,

I have decided to go through Redemption.
This takes all the worry of supply chain integrity away – essential here in England to get NHS medical support onside (free). My GP was very peased to hear the word ‘Cipla’ !

Also takes away the worry of the confusing bombardment of emails from various sources arriving in my email account! (some a little aggressive).

It is a little more expensive, but saves hundreds, possibly thousands in monitoring while on tx. (which I don’t have!)

It also offers Dr support, side-effect monitoring and advise from some lovely, polite and helpful Drs. via MonkMed & Dr F. / GP2U.

The fact the trial results will be taken to the ‘powers that be’ is also a bonus as it may contribute to helping others in the future, so this ‘gives something back’ in a small way.

Hopefully, this will be my one and only treatment, fingers crossed, so as I have carried this damn thing for many years, I’m not going to risk a purchase from someone I don’t fully trust, this should also lessen any anxiety during treatment.

So for a small extra cost that takes so much worry away, for me and gives peace of mind, it’s the only way to go !

Hi Rowan, Well done you and from what I read, yes, we are all different.

Also, from what I have read, the Ribavarin can make you feel poorly the longer you take it, tired and some nausea.
Have also read you must take it with some fat and many suggest you drink a natural pro-biotic yogurt drink to help the stomach.

Best wishes for the best outcome.

Hi Ariel, I am also waiting for my treatment to arrive, there are a few of us and after all the struggle of trying to access the medicines and medical support and learning so much bout all the ins and outs of the virus, I have a mixture or calm, excitement and nervousness.

We can all support each other through this wonderful site.
My very best wishes to you for an easy ride and the best possible outcome.

“I’m not sure if serum sodium is part of the ordinary test”

My serum sodium is part of the ‘normal’ LFT done at my GP surgery. The full bloods weren’t that ‘full’ compared to hospitals ones.

Mine showed that I may have drunk too much water – Results low. Oddly, I was advised to drink alot of water before a blood test to help them get the sample, I downed a few glasses before heading off to the Drs and drank a glass in the surgery !

May be worth checking anyway, if it comes back in your results.

B12 deficiency can also cause many problems – and can show up in Haemoglobin count.

Yep, the weather is coming !

Hi Dan, Was just reading up on some of my blood test results, My serum sodium is slightly out.

Anyway, when you get your blood results back, check that one?

If you have high serum sodium, it can cause dizziness on getting up and is called hypernatremia :

    This can be from :

Not drinking enough water and therefore – Dehydration
    Eating too much salt
    Some drugs
    Hyperventilation (breathing too fast)
or a loss of body fluids from prolonged vomiting, diarrhea, sweating or high fevers.

You may not have any symptoms, unless your blood sodium levels are significantly elevated, but you could get :

Dizziness when you stand up or change positions (you may be dehydrated).
Severe sweating or fever; vomiting and diarrhea with markedly elevated sodium levels, if your hypernatremia is due to a loss of body fluids.

    Advise :

Sodium levels must be corrected carefully. If you have a very high sodium level, your healthcare provider will cautiously correct the levels, to a “safe level.”

It is important that you stay well hydrated if blood test results show that you have Hypernatremia. Drink two to three quarts of fluid every 24 hours, unless you are instructed otherwise.

Avoid caffeine and alcohol, as these can cause you to have electrolyte disturbances.

You may not have Sodium out of balance, but it’s generally handy info anyway I feel .

    Susie
