Seeing GP tomorrow, the specialist sent his letter to the GP yesterday, stating I had no fibrosis – Unhelpful as well as untrue. He is giving the GP the impression I am impatient and not really in need of treating. Nasty man. Has really upset me, again.
This is the specialist whose education was funded by a variety of pharma companies.
ps re PALS – Yep, I agree, but this Dr should be pulled up on what he is doing, at least be made aware of the effect of his actions. No I don’t have the energy right now, but feel I should, out of principle, you know?
Thanks dt – Yes, I had dreams of Goa and meds he he but unfortunately life’s responsibilities do not make this an option. It will have to be Fed – ex .
Latest on ‘consultant’ – He just wrote to my GP stating I do not have fibrosis – Huh? (1st Fibro 8.7 early 2014 by experienced nurse who had no trouble getting a reading and 2nd questionable Fibro 6.2 – done by a visiting technician who told me he knew ‘nothing about livers” . was in a hurry and got extremely frustrated as he couldn’t get a reading and ended up taking it from around the back with my arm down) They do not believe it was questionable and didn’t listen to the circumstances Implementing I was being impatient or maybe neurotic or some other condescending notion, for wanting to treat soon . The Hep C Trust advised me to go to PALS – but I am too worn down enough by it to deal with all that. for now at least.
I will look to changing my consultant (Also advised by the HepC Trust) It’s all added stress I really don’t need though
Why would he say this? It’s so upsetting. Previous consultant said I needed to treat this year (last year) .Edit : Sorry I have veered of the Cipla post – but I need all the help I can get, so I need to consider what may be the most helpful pathway, you know?

It is all an extremely grey area to put it midly.
There will indeed be dirty tricks by some, my consultant has just written to my GP saying I have ‘no fibrosis’ – this is a blatant lie!
That’s two lies now He also mentioned that I ‘may treat privately’ – This letter arrived 2 days before I see my GP. All extremely odd, It really does wear you down emotionally, which doesn’t help the stress levels and makes me personally feel ill, probably a bit like any wellfare options here these days like sickness benefit. Our world is changing rapidly.i also think, what with all this devolution going on here in the UK, that different areas will have different policies in healthcare due to budgets and who’s at the head of policy, this is just the beginning of a huge post code lottery.
I agree, Stigma, is very much alive here in the UK, I am absolutely sure of that and have been on the end of it a few times – and no, It’s not paranoia. It has taken nearly two years to understand this.
I will prepare for the GP appointment and see what happens. I also booked an appointment with monkmed.
Good luck with the GP – Got a letter from the unhelpful consultant this morning, it’s a copy of a letter he’d sent my GP – It stated I was ‘considering going private’ for treatment. No comment

Re other UK consultants, I do believe it is entirely up to them, they can’t prescribe, but they can certainly monitor if they choose to, even if they don’t condone it, it’s just most of them don’t, unfortunately.
I hear you FF, strongest thing I take on very rare occasions is a Paracetamol.
Still, we do what we have to do, I would prefer less precription drugs if possible,
but will keep an open mind as I am not on tx yet.Meds are meds, just some are more toxic than others, herbs can also toxic,
One thing you can do, is just read up before swallowing anything and make an informed choice (my latest phrase he he)
that’s my Philosophy anyway
