It seems the real world figures for g3’s isn’t quite as good as 96% but given that the current meds are still relatively new it may take time for treatment regimes to be perfected.

Maybe it’s possible that Zepatier could interfere with the PBAC’s deal with Gilead and funding caps given that G3 is more prevelant here.

In USA we are totally screwed, there are almost no regulations on business anymore.

You obviously didn’t get the memo, it’s not called regulation anymore it’s red tape and should be removed according to many politicians ! The USA isn’t the only country suffering from this condition.

    Hi Gaj

Just got back and for the most part stuck to the plan, no carbsjust protein and veges/salad except for the big breakfast yesterday morning. I can’t help it if the put my eggs and mushrooms on the toast I didn’t order :)

As for the Paella taking the chorizo and seafood out without the rice would be a criminal act. Its probably my favourite dish.

In there you will see my post about my diet at the time which I have now modified a bit to reduce my carb/polyunsaturated fatty acid intake and increase saturated fats (but not hydrogenated) for energy. Pizzas are off the menu now.:( But on the bright side, lots of steaks, untrimmed lamb chops :cheer:, bacon n’ eggs, butter and goodies like that plus non-starchy vegs. Will have to start working up some Thai style curries with coconut cream but skip the rice accompaniment and add vegs instead. (Read Price’s post as cereal being the only bad one in her list) The Hopefulgeranium blogs in Dr James post are an interesting if sometimes heavy read on the subject to give some guidance. Look at limiting the hours when you are allowed to eat too so you are in a fasting mode for longer each day, so no midnight snacks, etc.

Hope all that makes sense. Take care and best wishes for your Tx. :+1:

It sounds easy but in reality a bit harder especially working odd hours like I do but will manage it. I just showed my wife your post as proof she needs to feed me more protein and less carbs. Steak,Vegies,Eggs,Bacon and Thai curries I can do though next week I will be living on the road and have to rely on roadhouse food.

Actually after 4 1/2 months tx my liver is now feeling pretty good nearly all the time but I expect the virus to come back when I stop.

    cheers

The small package size relates to buying this weeks medication with this weeks pay which is the reality in a lot of less financially advantaged markets. The idea of buying all your medication in one go is totally out of reach for many people in countries like Bangladesh, so in context the size makes sense. I expect larger pack sizes will appear in due course, but both the production dies, and box work needs to be tooled up.

Beacon favour blister packages over bottles because it is much harder (as in expense) to fake blister packaging. Bottles are relatively easy as the bottles are standard off the shelf so a bottle of fake medication is really only stick a label on it.

Makes perfect sense Dr James their target market would probably be in the 3rd world for the most part then I expect .

The fault is not really with Pharma.

This is an issue with our political system and the rules and regulations that facilitate such lesser good practices created by our notional representatives, who, to be blunt, no longer represent us.

Nailed it right there and I think the end result will be war.

Twinvir used to be only available in 7 pill boxes as well until they changed to 28 day bottles but i’m not complaining just thought it strange that it would be sold like that.

The TPP is dead in the water I think.

    Gaj,

Reducing dietary saturated fat is associated with an increase in LDL-receptor abundance (which helps the virus multiply) of magnitude similar to the decrease in serum LDL-cholesterol (which is what happens with geno 3).

So it looks like your new diet will have to include restriction of PUFAs in favor of big fat steaks, and eggs and bacon for breakfast instead of cereal, butter, coconut oil <img style=ick:' /> ….and treat during winter when chol is higher (because of seasonal variations in bile acids). :woohoo:

    P

So no carbs, more greens and animal fats/protein ?
