I thought your psychedelic liver looked cool actually and I was surprised by how much space the liver took up. Hopefully they can do away with those rotten biopsies like you said.
< 12 was pretty much an UND before so congrats LG :woohoo:

The clinic told me to take Riba with some fatty food so I opted for a slice of bread with peanut butter on it most times.

Dr James suggested a low carb diet to me last week Price and said there may be a relationship with the hep c virus and blood sugar. I think that’s what I heard.
Interesting article Price, I expect I will be getting rid of some carbs from my diet.
Cheers

What was the progression of symptoms that made you suspect what turned out to be an unfortunate relapse? I mean, did you feel better during treatment and then things changed in a particularly noticeable way?
I’m just asking as I’m sure that most people have waves of vitality and enervation, so you must have noticed something out of the ordinary that provoked your suspicion. Maybe there is something for all of us to look out for just in case.[/quote]
Good question A.L and I’m glad you asked it. The symptoms that came back were bloating, swollen liver and some mild liver pain which I hadn’t had for 3 months. I was on a cruise at EOT and had been putting on weight eating a lot of rich food so I was hoping that it was just my fatty liver playing up. I knew I had a bloods coming up so didn’t worry about it.
I knew that not all of us would SVR straight up and it appears that GT-3’s are batting about 90% on the DAA’s, we’ll get there eventually
PS; Wife has me on these bloody raw veggie shakes for breakfast now, lost 4 kgs in 3 weeks
cheers

Physical recovery is one thing but I think there is a definate convalescence period needed after we clear. Given we have lived with this illness for decades mostly it must have an effect on us mentally and spiritually as well.
I know near the EOT I was getting more confident and hopeful for the future, making plans for next year etc etc.
You have come a long way since you arrived on this site Ariel and it can only get better

I did 18 weeks, if this was a couple of years ago I would be worried but I know we will eventually get there. I don’t have any issues on the DAA’s and we are fortunate to have access to meds in this country. I also helps having the expertise of Dr James available.

Will be re treating with Sof and Dac and taking the Docs advice from there.
Apparently the GT3 can be a stubborn bastard to treat in some.

I had to see a local doc last Sunday at the medical centre and asked her if she has been treated any hep c patients, she replied no and that they can’t. I explained that they she can start writing scripts as long as they have the appropriate blood tests, she told me I was wrong and only specialists could. We went to and fro on the subject for a while with her ending up bristling as her lack of understanding of the subject became more obvious. I finished by saying they probably should go through their files and start writing to all their patients with Hep c and initiating treatment as they will have plenty out here in Western Sydney.
Tact was never a strong point for me.
