Fitz, I offered to have all the nursing students visit my dept so they can see what we do. So I get them two at a time for a whole shift and I have their undivided attention.
I’ve also been talking to the doctors. I tell them that there are now generics of the expensive meds for hep c and they are backed up by the International Liver conference and hand them a handwritten card with the FixHepC link.

My mother passed away from the same and she also had the smell ….caused by a long history of alcohol use.
But her son is a young kid who works out and hopefully they’ll never have to go through what we went through. I mean, that’s why we’re here helping, right?

It means he’s burning amino acids for energy because he’s not eating enough carbohydrates. Have him eat some high glycemic carbs before working out, like an apple, or grain bread or oatmeal and drink sports drinks during exercise (like Gatorade, etc) that his body can use as a quick source of energy .and I bet you he gets rid of the smell.

HCV core protein has a direct effect on the cold-precipitation process (so the higher the viral load the more precipitins). So it makes sense that getting rid of the viral load would eliminate the cryo.

There is something called cryoglobulinemia vasculitis that can cause ulcers and affect the kidneys.
