    Wow.

In the case of sofosbuvir, they found that even assuming a 50% profit margin for the manufacturer to cover capital investment and return to shareholders, it would now be possible to sell a 12-week course of the drug for $178.

It wouldn’t surprise me if Gilead sources their APIs from one of the generic manufacturers anyway.
In another article posted here, Gilead reports about 8 billion dollars per quarter revenue. Are there any humans involved? Do they have no morals or compassion? I’m starting to think they are just electronic bean counters.

All the capsules are together in a bottle, no blister pack. Humidity and heat will affect gelatin so I’m keeping them in the fridge.

It’s annoying how selective Medicare can be in covering tests and treatment. I had dengue fever in June and had to have a test which cost $95. Surely you’d think the govt would be keen enough to know about dengue cases to cover it.
Fortunately I’ve had all the HepC tests covered, bloods from GP, and Fibroscan and bloods from St Vincents liver clinic.

Chejai you’ll be a $190 less naughty girl now!
I’ll be a $1700 less naughty boy too, but at least I’m on Tx now so don’t begrudge splashing out on that.

I’m still new here but got things moving fast. Had a GP2U appointment with Dr James and just received Sof/Dac today. In the same mail delivery were my latest blood results so updated my sig.
    Away we go…………….. :)

I just got my Sof/Dac from Kingswood today, excellent service. Yay, start tonight!
The price is still the same, $AU1250 for Sof and $AU350 for Dac. A bit more than Buyers Club but quicker delivery.

Saw my GP the other day and got my last bloods and fibroscan results. Put them in sig. I had fresh bloods including quantitative VL for pre tx levels. Should have those results tomorrow.
My GP was happy to give me past results and order fresh ones, but did not wish to prescribe or monitor. Kinda what I expected.
I have an appointment with Dr. James on Tuesday and hopefully can start treatment really soon after.

I tested the video on GP2U app on my LG G3 Android phone. Seemed to be working ok.

Good to hear some symptoms I didn’t even attribute to HCV may be related and improved after treatment. I also have had muscular and joint problems for years which I just thought were from getting old! I wouldn’t take Naproxen lately though, that stuff is evil.

Hi, just joined this forum and am really eager to start on treatment after a friend directed me here. Heard last night his VL is Und after 4 weeks.
I’ve probably had HepC since the 70s or 80s but not detected until early 90s. Had several visits to Dr. Desmond at St.Vincents liver clinic in Melbourne. I don’t recall my VL but had fibroscan and he said scarring was present but not severe. I have Gt1a.
Will be seeing my GP tomorrow who has been ok with monitoring LFTs. I’m hoping he will give me copies of the fibroscan and other tests from StV as he was sent some after the first visit before fibroscan. It is very unlikely he will prescribe for me though.
Also trying to contact my old GP who originally diagnosed HCV and was very supportive and will try to convince him to prescribe. Not able to get appointment at StV again till Feb but that’s too far away.
Have been living with many strange symptoms for many years that I put down to many causes. Originally thought some were side effects or withdrawal symptoms of heroin/methodone/paroxetine use but have not touched any of that for nearly 10 years. Also some symptoms consistent with depression/anxiety so it’s been frustrating. I now see much of it could be mainly hepC symptoms. They also have been seriously worse since I spent 8 days in hospital in June with dengue fever.

My most viable treatment looks to be Harvoni. So my questions at the moment are –
    – what test results do I need to have for the prescribing doctor?
    – does buyers club deal with Harvoni or do I need Sofosbuvir + Ledipasvir separately prescribed?

If I have no joy with my local GPs I will be contacting GP2U on Friday.

Cheers all! Still living life but it’s a battle sometimes. ;)
