Thanks very much for the confirmation on that, Dr James. So I guess seeing that ‘UND’ status pop up is (at least strictly clinically) isn’t a requirement for SVR – but nice to have as a psychological factor. Why people feel the need to jump on extra treatment length, as some kind of “buffer” in case of relapse. To my mind if you attain UND at any point why would you think about extending tx?

at close to week 10 I may need to do 24 weeks. The facts are VL can and do go up and down during treatment even if your showing Detected at
week 12 you’re not considered failed as 24 weeks post treatment is cured. The chances are if you’re UD from early on you’ll remain so at 12 weeks
Hmm, this is what I thought – that even if you were still detected at 12wks, you may still achieve UND by 24?? A second course of treatment is unlikely to be an option for me.

ALT 26Great to hear you’re on the way now LG! and on the trial (me too heh)
Completely agree about helping to provide data that will assist others and the docs to better guide and treat…the main reason I’ve hung onto my meds the last month. I’ve been given so much just by having the opportunity to access tx, feel its only right to be able to help if possible.

About time I wouldn’t have had the self control you have once they turned up.

After failing the old drugs I wouldn’t blame you at all for being a bit apprehensive! You know its not going to be anything like that

ALT 26I’m with you part – definitely not on tx. Hey if its confession time lol, I had two beers yesterday – a rare thing for me, probably the second time this year. Don’t feel any specific ill-effects but its something I won’t be doing again, for a very long while…ideally I will give my body a clean run until at least SVR24. Wouldn’t mind being able to have the odd social drink once in a relative blue moon.
Fortunately I was pretty much abstinent from my diagnosis in ’90 until around 2009 when I started competing in a sport where (at least at interstate/away comps) its common – though on those rare occasions I rarely drank more than a couple due to bugger-all alcohol tolerance, not adverse liver effects. So who knows this might be the only reason I’m F0 now…maybe I’ve dodged a bullet. Reading your story bloot, man you have done great to come back from where you were – all the more power to you

ALT 26Interesting question. I’ve been a vegetarian since about 1985 and have been taking B12 supplements for a while. Just noticed on a blood test result a few weeks back I now have it in excessive levels – about 100 pmol past the maximum No idea what that means lol

Absolutely the best Xmas present for many here, and we others yet to treat/reach UND can look forward to our amazing gift of health a bit more belatedly.
2016 is going to be a watershed year both personally and for the wider Hep world I reckon, massive thanks to the the tireless efforts and compassion of Dr James, Greg and the buyer’s club. The further the word spreads, the better
